Actually we don't know. We do know that he does have his reasons for stating what he did. At first almost everyone was skeptical about what was being said. However, after asking a few of our inside guys, we became a little more intrigued by the situation. But until the appointed time comes and goes, most will be questioning the OP's statement.

Call me gullible, but I'm starting to believe it. Warner couldn't ignore the Blu numbers for long... It's time to end this war finally.

Also I'm happy to report that I just purchased my first blu-ray player (a PS3) from Amazon.com. Now through the 30th, they have a 7 free Blu-ray movie offer (2 instant, 5 mail-in) when you buy a PS3. The free Blu-rays I'm getting are Apocalypto and Casino Royale. Long live Blu!

More than likely its some AVSforum HD-DVD troll coming on here to cause a stir and he's succeeded probably more than he'd anticipated!

It's quite easy for myself or anyone else on here to sign up to AVSFORUM and post a rumour that warner is about to declare HD-DVD exclusivity tomorrow!

His post was way to detailed. It explained stuff that made sense. This is hard to make up. If WB does announce this tomorrow it would explain a lot of what's been going on behind the scenes.

Everyone figured it was going to happen by 1Q08!!!!!!

So, it may be tomorrow or sometime very soon!!!

Most people believe WB will go BD exclusive in the near future.

You guys better hope that this happens tomorrow. If it doesn't or it's an HD DVD troll, playing a practical joke, we're all going to look pretty stupid. Some of us fight the good fight, over at AVS or other HD DVD mud pits and this just gives them ammunition to say, "see, these guys are just a bunch of know nothings". I'm not playing in to this scenereo and I am distancing myself from this rumour. I'm even posting this, as so and also standing up for this site and you, my comrades, over there. Don't let these fools paint you in this way. It'll take months to get this, our site, back to respectability, if you let this get the best of you. If it is indeed true, then I'll be the first one to apologize, happily, knowing Warner just won the format war for us and I don't have to fight with the vanquished anymore.

It is a possibility that this is true, but as some have pointed out earlier, why wouldn't they just state that Warner do what PM did and stop producing BDs and have a recall on any new titles. Lots of logic has been passed through this thread in the last few hours. Actually, the comments have been pretty calm about the situation.

Where's the evidence of that? I'm not sure how you can say the "Warner" secretly liked Blu Ray and the argueably 2nd class status we've seen to date was all down to Nickerson. There's no way to make that seperation, and we've seen no preference for Blu Ray since he's been gone. Yes, I am saying the OP is a troll, or has some delusional attention seeking complex: Warners is neutral.

I doubt that is related, since WB doesn't appear to have a presence there, and the main sponsors are Microsoft and Toshiba. Or if it is related, WB could be timing their press release to counter-act something from the Reds... nah.

Looking forward to the truth of this. From what I've put together from insiders and older news stories, it's clear that

A) WB has been approached by both sides to become exclusive.
B) They turned down the HD-DVD side.
C) Certain insider(s) have reacted as if they expect this news to happen at some point, but were unsure as to the timing.

Even if the OP made all this up, it has a lot of strong basis in reality, to the point where it's almost an educated guess. WB will either be neutral or go blue, but some of the large factors keeping them neutral have gone recently...

Im not saying that it's beyond impossible, but it is VERY easy to write bullshit and make it sound believable!

More than likely the guy is a lurker on here, he reads enough and just decided one night to write something and paid VERY careful attention to detail!

Nobody here cares what plazman thinks. As funny as his post was to you over there about "credibility of Blu-ray.com"...he turns around the does the same stuff on behalf of AVMS.

I'm skeptical of this rumor. I sincerely doubt anything happens tomorrow. But I do think early next year WB will go Blu if all happens as anticipated in 4Q07.

Yup, this was a scenario proposed in my mind...if it is, then he thinks a lot like me, which could be a scary though--have done this in the past to friends when I was a lot younger. Anyway, most are at the point of not allowing this to make them go declare victory, but haven't completely ruled it out either.
