I clicked on the link to the highdefdigest forum and WOW... most of those guys have lost their minds... one dude made reference that if this turns out to be true, then it's a "TIE"... a freakin TIE? Come on... if Warner goes BLU, it's a HUGE death blow to hd dvd. Warner, in conjuction with Sony, Disney, Fox ... fuggedaboutit.

There is a good argument for WB to go Blu-ray exclusive. The consumer is totally confused, and the adaption of HD and subsequent sales are being hampered. The format confusion needs to come to an end. WB going Blu-ray would hasten that a great deal and everyone could get on with making money.

I like how the one guy says, don't worry Toshiba is going to back us for years.

In the OP's latest message he/she mentions responding to PM's sent. I hadn't sent one but has anyone currently online have? If so, were you lucky enough to get a reply and was anything additional learned that would make this whole thing more believable or not?

Otherwise it's just a matter of hours that this is proven one way or another...

(Pro-blu signature under construction)
I was thinking the same thing. Has anyone actually received a PM back?

I see what you mean. 350+ people lurking...somethings fishy.

I'm calling troll. No way. Not with this many people watching. It's either the HDDVD or AVSforum pulling a huge prank.

Even if BD wins the format war (I still think its 18months to a couple of years off) how long will it take standard DVDs to be phased out. Aren't we talking years.

Everyone should just honestly consider it to be false. There is no point putting hope into something that isn't official.

HD DVD zealots are not really the smartest people on the planet, if you get my drift.

i think anyone with any connection to reality knows that in the admittedly unlikely event that WB goes blu-only, HD DVD is well and truly dead and we'll be seeing lots of seppuku among toshi executives.
