Same as a home Atmos/DTS:X 7.1.4 layout.
Yep, force of habit writing it that way lol.

The cheapest IMAX home theater is for $400,000 and includes IMAX server with 200 pre-loaded movies. The server includes playback support for DCP, Blu-Ray, broadcast TV, gaming etc and 20TB of additional space.

New movies (cinema master) can be watched on release day via the "IMAX Home Premier" rack mounted box costing additional $10,000 (with fingerprint scanning) with additional fee for each movie rental for Middle East and China only. For other markets, $35,000/yr for "Prima Cinema" rack mounted box and $500 per movie per 24h rental (2k/4k at 10 bit 4:2:2). IMAX has ownership stake in Prima Cinema, so I suppose they would have IMAX aspect ratio masters.
Both these systems have multiple fail safes such as RAID 5 storage such as fingerprint scanning and accelerometers to ensure content security.

The sound is 7.1 and the levels can be controlled by the user. The video is using two 4k Xenon projectors, likely Barco B series modified, and silver screen.

What type of speakers do they use? Polk Audio, Klipsch, Pionner, Definitive Technology, JBL, SVS etc?

To add to what Zhorik said, you can get the laser projectors in the top-end version...the other ones are budget in comparison

http://www.imaxprivatetheatre.com/en/index.html

• Dual 4K 2D/3D laser projectors
• Advanced image super enhancer
• Immersive IMAX® curved screen and movable frame
• Proprietary IMAX® sound system
• Quality equalizer and power amplifier
• HD multi-media content server and player
• (supporting HD television, Blu-ray™, DVD, CD, gaming and karaoke)
• Touch-screen control pad with dedicated control system
• Number of seats x3 pairs of professional 3D glasses

*Space Requirement: 80-150 m²

Plus you get the same monitoring the commercial IMAX auditoriums have.

The speakers seem to be custom enclosure, smaller versions of their franken cinema speakers. Don't know what drivers. The stated frequency response of the system is 22hz-20khz (-3db).

I would assume the package includes the famous IMAX count down intro from the touch pad.

Should do if they are using IMAX DCPs as the media file since the countdown is locked into the DCP itself and not an additional clip.

Wonder if the warm-up and calibration takes 40 minutes like the commercial theatres...

It would be cool to see the user interface for the IMAX server. Perhaps it's the same as the one used in their commercial screening booths.

Any pictures online of the various rack mount servers and such? I presume the rate is for a full install including room prep/soundproofing, or does the customer take care of that first?

There hasn't been any IMAX theaters at sea yet as far as I can tell, on cruise ships or superyachts. If I was in the market for a 150+ footer I'd want an IMAX theater on board as an industry first.

Ships sure have gotten ugly The need to stack up thousands of balconies- until twenty years ago reserved for the top 1% of suites- has led to them resembling floating condominiums at best, livestock carriers at worst (how apt).

I'd rather look backwards if "progress" looks like that ^

Wonder Woman IMAX 3D - presented fixed 2.40, no expanded image (why did they put out that 1.9:1 TV spot with expanded image then??). And 3D conversion is meh, very flat overall, felt 2D at times but not really watchable with glasses off.

Since all indications are it will be a 1.85 general release title, don't see the need for a special IMAX AR on that as it will already fill most IMAX screens.

Shame, because I wanna see the full matte version in a real 1.4 IMAX screen. Balls.

I have a 1.43 laser screen near me as well (where I'm seeing Wonder Woman), but there are around 40 or so of those screens worldwide, compared to a thousand total IMAX locations, so I don't see them bothering with special formatting just for those screens.

Also, a number of American IMAX screens are skipping Wonder Woman this weekend and sticking with Pirates, kinda weird since Pirates underwhelmed domestically, and Wonder Woman is tracking for a $95 million+ opening.

But given all previous Nolan films have been 5.1 mixes and how he seems pretty hesitant about embracing new film technology, I'm not holding my breath.
Would not worry about it. The Prologue in IMAX Laser had pretty incredible sound. At least that was my experience with it. Sounded better than Rogue One.

Yeah, a full-height version would've been awesome but xbs is right, a 1.85 version will still look mighty when embiggened on an IMAX screen.

Right? The sound on the prologue was terrific, better than the movie which followed it (RO).

One million? No. But the good Lord did bless me with one that let me spend about 40k (that she essentially financed herself).

Probably because some are contracted with Disney to keep Pirates for more than 1 week. It was a similar situation last year when some IMAX screens got Ninja Turtles 2 while others kept Alice through the looking glass for another week.

Good point. IMAX not specially formatting WW for 1.90 even though FX was completed for shots at a taller AR (and they put out a spot in 1.9) does seem to suggest that it's not likely they'll do special formatting for JL, even though FX shots are being completed at 4:3. (Like with WW, this is based on the social.medja formatted trailer/spot uploads which have more image shown).

But maybe it'll happen, who knows. JL is potentially a bigger deal because if they do it it would be the first IMAX non doc feature presented entirely in 1.43:1.

Also a thing that shocked me, this is the first DCEU title without an IMAX 2D option at least domestically.
