Nearly half of AMC Montgomery Mall (Bethesda Maryland) is being renovated at the moment. I asked what was happening with the large premier screen which used to be Arclight's "widescreen" premier auditorium and was told it's going to be a "Prime" screen

You’re in for a treat if they install the same projector/screen we recently got when our PRIME was upgraded here in Tucson. Brilliant clarity & brightness, better even than any Dolby Cinema I’ve been to. Combined with the smaller size, it’s very comparable to watching a movie at home on a massive 4K TV with super high luminance. I still prefer a proper “big screen” experience but I’ve gotten to the point where PRIME is often good enough given the alternative is driving a few hours up to Phoenix.

When I saw Dune Part 2 at the King of Prussia Regal IMAX in 70mm last month the image was misaligned so that the 1.9 portions of the image actually reached the top of the 1.43 screen. I kept waiting for the AR to shift and it never did.
Dune 2 is back on the IMAX screen there now, I think digitally this time, so I assume that dual laser won't have the same issue but thought I would share just in case. More here - https://www.reddit.com/r/imax/commen...m_dune_part_2/ |

They did say a while back that 16k resolution cameras would be used and that you’d actually be able to watch in 8k. This kinda begs the question of what the perceived resolution of dual-2k liemax is (IIRC they claimed in its early days that it produced a “sub-pixel” res exceeding 4k) and, by extension, how dual-4k laser Imax effectively looks. |

I mean Challengers, Horizon, A Complete Unknown, Bob Marley One Love all are adult dramas from last year in the mid budget range ($50-$100 million), and aside from Horizon they were reasonably successful. And Fly Me to the Moon, Megalopolis, Joker Folie a Deux and Better Man are large budget adult dramas ($100 million+), though unlike some of the mid budget films, none of those found success.
