Blu-ray have already won the format war. HD-DVD is not dead yet but it's time for some killing . Does your friend really believe in the things he writes?

I have it on good authority that indeed Warner Brothers is a business.

My sources also tell me that they produce movies.

That's all I know about this.

Well here is one post
Quote:
I have to say that the response to the Warner rumor has surprised me in a very positive way. Blu-ray.com members have been reserved in their response. Most likely, this is because of the way they have been jerked around by some posters in the past. HD DVD fans have been accepting of this rumor, hoping it to be untrue, but not mocking people believing it nor crying payoff or foul. Most likely, this is a result of the shock of the Paramount deal and the subsequent loss of the "wait 'til the EU looks at BD payoffs to studios!" rallying cry.

Congrats to both sides for a rational and hopeful response.

Oh, and congrats to Timothy Ramzyk on 2k posts.

it be more like 50% a lot more cash can be made

Wow,
My Gawd, people like rdjam, plazman, and poor Amir must have had a stroke by now.

Is the date of the original post actually correct ?
That thread has grown that large in so short a time?
This isn’t some trick that you guys are playing on ole Penton to take his mind off his recent knee surgery and physical therapy…..is it ?

I have to ask these questions before I can give you an honest and as forthcoming response as I can.

Well ?

4. Warner said it would examine the holiday season before making a decision, so they'd be lying if they went blu tommorow, but businesses do lie
5. Warner abandoned their totalhd format, so maybe supporting both formats wasn't the best business plan availible.
6. WB was at the BDA conference at IFA but not the HD DVD one.
7. WB's on-line website stops shipping videos.

overall id say there is a good chance of wb going blu exclusive, i just have my doubts about it being tommorow.
Added another fact to your list. My reaction to this is that it's a BS post by a troll from an HD-DVD site. But if by some miracle it turned out to be true, then it would show that WarnerBros has some class (unlike Paramount) by announcing it in advance in plenty of time for folks (particularly HD-DVD fans and potential HD-DVD Christmas buyers) to make adjustments such as cancelling HD-DVD orders or plans to buy a Toshiba for Christmas.

Geeze I have a shoot in the field today and all this goes down? I think it is all just false hope, but man oh man just think if it was actually true....

It did get me thinking though. Warner has been posting tons of ads saying that neutrality is the best way to go and you make the most money, yet no Studios went neutral. In fact their only other 'partner' at the neutral table slaps them in the face and goes exclusive to the weaker format. So maybe there is some truth....eh it still sounds too good to be true.

Fun reading every third page though trying to find the end to this thread. lol

Well I got that in the first post but I was wondering if you only wanted to add some more posts to the thread or not. Guess I got my answer.
