Thumbs down

At least the mods saw fit to change the headline to (rumor).
This thread will be up on AVS soon just so they can laugh.

I want Beatboy demanding we all contact our Attorney General's office if this is true, and endless threads citing "money laundering" and calling Sony and Panasonic $ony and Pana$onic. Otherwise my sig is going to change to a simple "Pot - Kettle- Black".

In all seriousness, this would rule if it turns out to be true. Just when I thought
Paramount/Dreamworks had muddied the waters for another 18 months (if not sunk the chances of HD optical really catching on past LD level), we may see a clear cut winner sooner than that after all.

At the same time, part of me fears this is just another troll from one of the HD-DVD only sites like that Smurf guy a couple of weeks back.

This is my last Post before I'm going to have a dinner with some "friends" now.
Few things I'm going to add:

A)Do not underestimate Warner's appearance with BDA in IFA.

B)Did you guys already forgot about New Line? no HD DVD release dates yet! Region Coding? come on. Warner has no problem with no region coding. How come New Line does? Many companies smaller than New Line are releasing HD DVD's in europe with no region coding.

C)Panasonic is stepping up their effort for Blu-ray. I believe (not sure) they are giving Warner a deal for BD replication. Also Panasonic Hollywood Labs will cooperate with Warner's encoding house on many projects. Take this one with a grain of salt cause I'm not 100% sure here.

D)Some titles new more space to have a great quality. Some "very famous" title is going to prove it come Q2 2008.

Man this has been a busy day. I need a good meal now. If you guys have any important questions, PM me or post it here. I'll try to address it when I get home tonight.

im gonna stick this post in the 'ignore' pile, then if it turns out not to be BS then all fine, if its BS then im not fussed as im not taking it seriously. Im sure Penton would have given us a super duper mega cryptic post like Times are a changing or something..

anyway

continue pointless rumour and speculation...

My main source of consternation - why would Warner officially announce Twister for both formats in January? Seems like they would have held back such an announcement unless this was a last minute deal like the Paramount one.
