Geelong is playing its first grand final in about 12 years or so and hasn't won a grand final since 1963, so it's a pretty big thing if they win.
dude... this has nothing to do with the post... stop trainwrecking the thread.

Well according to the rumor, WB will release everything that was promised, ie Harry Potter, Oceans, etc. Also, WB has already released the Matrix and Batman Begins, so what does WB still have that HD DVD would want, at least in the near future. Don't get me wrong, this is great news for Blu, but I think HD DVD made out like a bandit considering if this exclusivity is true.

New Line is under the umbrella of Warner. (That's code for *Lord of the Rings*)

-Waner will release all the previously exclusive HD DVD titles on Blu-ray by end of Q2 2008.
-The first Blu-ray live title (including PiP) from warner will release early 2008.
-As for their joint promotion with Toshiba regarding bundling 300 with 3rd generation Blu-ray players, the offer will expire December 2007.
-New Line will also go Blu-ray exclusive starting 2008 (Hairspray hint anyone?)
-One big catalogue title will be released exclusive on Blu-ray by Q2 2008. I believe Peter Jackson has something to do with that title

Tomorrow 10AM Pacific Time. For those of you who will think I'm not telling the truth or being stupid, I respect that opinion. But coming tomorrow when Warner announces exclusivity, all of you have to send me a Blu-ray movie as a bonus .
U MADE ME LOOSE 6HRS OF SLEEP ...if this is not true(sigh)..well lets hope it true...well if its not true...(sigh again)...well lets hope its true...but if it not true.....i will personally-------(to be continued)

PS didnt toshiba bribe WB with money too...i actually got that news last night

This is not really a matter of optimism vs. pessimism. It's a question of rational belief. Even if the speculation turns out to be true later, on present information no one is remotely justified in believing it now.

Several hundred posts ago the OP jumped back in and complimented his debunkers on their use of "logic". This doesn't state the situation forcefully enough. It's not merely that the balance of evidence makes it foolish to believe him explicitly. It's that it's unreasonable even to avowedly "suspend judgement" if this allows indulgence in alterations of one's mood or behaviour e.g. staying on tenterhooks to the preappointed time of "revelation". This is characterisitic of hoaxing and is precisely what the OP wants. He doesn't need you to agree with him expressly by posting "Yes! I believe!" His hoax is on merely by stringing you along with false hope and getting you to play along by (for example) counting the hours, divining hidden meanings in various posts and so on.

I've gone across the gamut of thoughts on this one. At first I thought, no way, then I moved slowly into "it's possible" then I went to "it's done". But the more I think about it the more I just don't see it happening.

Precedent does say an announcement could come out of the blue, such as the Paramount deal. But, I just don't think it'll happen.

I'm hoping I will be pleasantly surprised though!

I'm not trying to get anyone to take the blue pill, except maybe those people who are posting saying they've lost six hours of sleep etc etc.

I would think that if WB did go BD-exclusive, then what Batman Begins, Matrix, Harry Potter etc HD DUD discs there are, that would be the last of them. I mean, once they're sold out, they're sold out. I could be wrong, though.

Thanks. Too bad Paramount couldn't be as classy IF all the rumors turned out to be true.

Which is the most fun about this thread?

The excitement of Blu-ray supporters or the uncertainty of HD-DVD fans..

Even Amir has not been able to flat out deny it, but says as far as any knowledge he's privvy to this rumour is false.
