If Lee doesnt give him up to the Mods I'm walking from avs and I hope even more will go with me.
If the mods truly wanted to do something about this, they have the power. We will see what happens...my bet, it gets swept under the rug.

If you do leave AVS, I hope you join here. Level minded people are always welcome.

If this is a hoax, which it appears to be, the only reason why it was so successful is because it's very believable that Warner is going to go exclusive to BR. Now I was pretty shocked the rumor said it was to be announced now when HD 4th qtr titles have yet to be released. That to me made no sense but it was another clever lie with the rebate in HarryPotter for a BR player to account for that part.

If the poster was to say Warner was going HD exclusive how many people would believe that? Doesn't that say something about the state of HD?

It's funny how this was so believeable that HD fanboys had to admit it was their Hoax because their fanclub was about to commit suicide. After they laughed for a couple hours they suddenly started realzing if this rumor was to spread it could infact hurt sales. That's why it makes sense for the poster to say this is coming out 10 am.....the shorter the time the less likely to hurt sales.

Take the joke for what's it's worth......they've just proven how much trouble HD is in because everyone believed it. When it does offically happen, my guess is very little people will be surprised now.

I guess the mods are still hopeful - not closing this thread til at earliest past 10 huh?

Not sure if I'm reading P-man right but if I am, even if this is a hoax, Warner exclusivity is on the works anyway and is just gonna take a lil bit more time. Say maybe Q1 2008?

I don't have a problem with a rumor or rumor thread, but when some one creates a false rumor and then advertises it they should get kicked right in the NADS! LOL

It's funny to see the same HD-DVD Zealots over there trying sway people away from buying Blu-Ray on the Blu-Ray forum, and AVS for the most part lets it happen, with the FUD posts over and over. Looks like Mark R. is editing the crap out of the forum as I write this.. He closed it for now... How ironic..

My first post over here.

I don't like what this moron did. I have plenty invested in blu though it is a fraction compared to my red investment. I am about to invest more in blu. I like the convenience of using any of my media in any room I have an HDTV so my next purchase is probably either a BD Rom drive for my HTPC, or a combo drive. I bought a PS3 a couple of months ago, and the last movie I bought and watched was a BD exclusive.

What happened over here and the over reaction to it was all plain foolishness. I have a preference but I felt that what happened over here caused just as much temporary anx at AVS as it did initial joy here. Still, anyone who was not skeptical about this Warner move based on the timing, the direction, and most importantly the credibility of the source was wearing darkly colored glasses. I admit to having a twinge of butterflies when I heard about this rumor.. but it took me about 2 minutes to determine this was a very, very long shot. Not too point fingers but there is way too much rumour mongering in these forums. It is more excusable here than at AVS because there is no pretense of nuetrality and objectivtiy. This is a fan site, which I guess is what makes it so vulnerable to the scam artist.

People screaming for revenge are not listening to their better angels or showing maturity. The OP poster needs some sanctions imposed.. but what is it about this forum and its propensity for banning. Anyway we are 30 minutes away from this either being dispelled or confirmed. Although, I think we already know this had to be a hoax and a well executed one at that. Beware of Nigerians trying to get help cashing a check over the internet.

I don't know about that. If this was an HD-DVDer having fun over here at Blu-ray.com then I think his joke backfired. The only thing this has done has spread FUD in the HD-DVD camp. Look at some of their posts over there. A lot of those guys are really worried. While over here, a lot of us are anxiously waiting in anticipation of this glorious announcement that may or may not come.

The only people really feeling the negative side from this thread are the HD-DVDers. I think that's why the mods have let this thread stay alive over here.
