I couldn’t find a generator that gave me a pic with deeper focus. I can’t stand shallow DOF. I love anamorphic for using all the negative but they don’t have the deep focus ability of spherical.

Aren't you one of them ? Didn't you keep calling it "Kool-Aid" ? I still do.

Don't worry, I'll be reserving my ultimate judgment for when I finally see it for myself, seeing as there are some Dolby nuts on here who are every inch the PR-spouting equivalent of HeatEquation's undying love for HDR10+. But at least in their case they have the bullish confidence of Dolby's encroachment into the HDR market on all levels, whereas HDR10+ always looked like a cut-rate competitor and so putting all your eggs in that basket seemed to be the most irrational choice of the lot. That, and it seems to be in a spot of bother right now.

The issue with all the crazy vitriol is that there is still an HDR10 core? The dolby vision nuts are not losing out like is being posited by HDR10+ having UHD discs.
It is more likely than not that without HDR10+ in the ecosystem these discs would just be regular HDR10 -- which would leave these frothing so and so's in the same boat as they are? Companies embracing HDR10+ are doing so for the benefit of not having to pay royalties to Dolby... |

![]() There's a yearly membership fee BTW for HDR10+ (the "free" aspect is false propaganda). It's just not on a per-unit thing. |
