Excellent, been waiting for a BD release. Thanks Pro-B!

I guess we will get the shorter International Cut?

The only info from the distrib for now is the one that I posted. I will make sure to update this thread when more becomes available.

Not my first choice for the first new Korean movie on Blu in a while but I'll take it. Hopefully they follow up with Lady Vengeance, JSA, Memories of Murder and Save the Green Planet soon!

No one is saying DVDs are useless, but his post was specifically about TGTB&TW being available on Blu. After all, this is the Blu-Ray Releases (Asia) board.

Both could be worth picking up, since the Korean DVD will have the Korean release version and a shorter international version. The BD might only have the shorter cut. Time will tell.

as crazy as it sounds, the way i see it, if he wanted a certain movie, and it had an excellent storyline, he'd get it, regardless of the media.

all in all, a subtle disagreement. since this is blu-ray.com

on another note, id prefer the same as well, there are a number of other movies out there id wish they can choose to release in blu-ray.

in particular to korean releases,
- Vengeance trilogy (nice choice on Lady Vengeance - my favorite PCW movie)
- Bittersweet Life
- JSA
- and Once upon a time in high school

I am ready for this release..... I was wanting to get this on DVD just because I couldnt get it on Blu.

Looks good, I just hope its not a disappointment like Sukiyaki Western and a little more like Bittersweet Life

BTW for Korean blu-ray release..... I must have
Lady Vengeance
Fighter In the Wind
A Bitter Sweet Life
I also wouldn't mind a special release of Old Boy.

I'd say it's at least as good as A Bittersweet Life, but different. It's more playful and lighthearted. Still a very good movie, though.

K.... It will be a day of release buy for me. I love its price so far, that will come out to 27 dollars or so. Which is great for me, I was thinking Yesasia would be selling it for like 40 to 50.

Since the only info on the upcoming Blu-ray release is for the UK market, we opened up a thread about in the European section a few days ago

thanks pro-b! thankfully, korean movies are making a comeback. sadly for the previous movies in the past two years or so are unforgiving. last movie i loved was er... bloody ties.

Bittersweet life was probably one of my favorite films, both for asian cinema, as well as mainstream. just imagine the 'cafe scene' he has in both the beginning and the end part in HD.

There is a placeholder at Amazon UK for it with a release date of June 1 indicated.

EDIT: Pre order info is now up at HMV UK.
