Interesting. In the books Moiraine is side character. Rand is clearly main character from the beginning to end and Mat/Perrin are the second characters.

Moiraine is not a side character, she just doesn't get PoV chapters.

Me and the wife have watched all these shows and court up with everything over Christmas. (including the last season of Lost in Space) and we both agree that Foundation was by far the best of all of them, the only one that we believe has the quality to go the distance and still be popular by the time it ends.

The younger cast really are terrible in this, and the acting and dialogue seemed to get worse as it went on. Like when it was time to step up and become center stage for the more dramatic scenes they're clearly not up to the task.

In contrast, the older cast members do much better

Actually, for those that played the games, it feels a lot more like an Elder Scrolls game, particularly Oblivion.

You clearly haven't red the books.

Or mayby they kill her of like Sean Bean?

I've read them twice, once in Italian once in English. She's the character that puts everything in motion and manages the dumb kids of the main cast until she
[Show spoiler]tackles Lanfear into the porta ter'angreal
, we know little of her in the books because she doesn't tell anyone anything and we see her only from the PoV of the kids. She's no Bayle Domon for sure.

I know very little about the books but can understand why radical changes would annoy fans.

For myself I enjoyed it. The don’t hold back on the magic and Rosalind Puje played a very interesting character.

Learning about world and its cultures was interesting.

The sidekick warriors were interesting too as were the tinkers.

The five young people were dreadful though - both in the acting and as characters. Not remotely likeable and all they did in each episode was moan and complain.

And they used the worst one as the Dragon Reborn.

God those books are so good. I agree though, I don't really want a show for that, nor movies for Mistborn. Although, watching Arcane on Netflix made me think it could be possible.

Yeah,
[Show spoiler]moraine is definitely not a real lead. She's more like a Gandalf than an Eddard Stark. A big amount of her appeal is being the mysterious mentor. She's purposely vague, and not knowing her motives all the time is important in building up the E5's perspective of her given their limited information.

I liked the first season well enough but I just know they're gonna pull a Netflix on us. No way in hell this series runs long enough to finish the books.

My main complaint about the first season: where the h*ll were Aginor and Balthamel? They can't just leave out some of the Forsaken, can they? I mean, them being 13 is a major plot point.

We’re all fairly certain that the Forsaken are going to be reduced down to 8 due to the figures shown in episode 5. To be fair, 13 is a lot of characters to juggle for characters who don’t do much for a long time

Season 2 premieres 9/1. The first season wasn't great, but I'll give S2 a chance, hoping for improvements.

I found there was more I liked about S1 than I didn't like. So, I'm definitely still interested in more and seeing how the show progresses in S2. I'm not sure I can say the same about LOTR...
