Also, someone walk me through this chain of though b/c I’m lost.

I work for an insurance co. that has multiple military contracts.

We get an email this morning that the other part of our company, which handles a is having phone issues.

We have no affiliation w/this other contract other than the fact that another part of our company works on it.

A dr’s office calls me in regards to this other line not working and asks me what they should do??

I tell her to call them this afternoon and she got pissed!!!

I wanted to ask her if she calls wal-mart when she can’t get through to target??

We’re considered 2 different companies b/c of the 2 different contracts.

Why call 1 company to ask about another one??

I'm being serious. Sounded to me that you are 1 company with multiple departments or divisions, each handling its own contracts.

We are, but we don’t handle each others work.

I advised the phones were down and she’d have to callback to which she got

I just can’t understand why u’d call 1 about the other. The other line said they were having difficulties and to call back.

How is she supposed to know? You say "one about the other" -- but you are one company. Does she have something saying that your company is divided into divisions, and her contract is serviced by one division and not the other? I wager her contract has your company's name on it and that's it.

The 2 divisions that are involved are known as Tricare for Life and Triwest.

The differences are pretty significant between the 2.

Not to mention the fact she called in for the specific purpose of checking on the other phone # issue.

We use 2 different phone #’s 2 different addresses, everything is different.

Do people call your office w/questions about another attorney in town??

Actually you're not far off. lol My firm has various departments, and one is in a separate building that I never interact with. They literally do their own thing. But sometimes, since we're all under the same company, we'll get calls in our department that are intended for their department, and vice versa.

And what do u do in cases like that??

I just can’t get over the fact that she was p!ssed that I couldn’t help her when I don’t have those programs.

You should have told her the company was in liquidation and all contracts were in the process of being terminated.
