Can't stand the bloke. Luckiest guy on the planet to be acting in films. My pet dog has more acting ability and he has been dead for years (bless him)

I am in two minds over Vardy gvortex7, Wenger has invested in young English talent in the past e.g Walcott,Chamberlain but if he signs him he is 29 years old.
My issue is not with his age or the fee but the fact Wenger is breaking one of his own rules if he was to sign Vardy this shows you among other reasons the man's character and how it affects us as a club with his way's.The 20 million release clause is nothing to Arsenal but his form last season was fantastic but i don't believe he can repeat it as he have never shown it in his career.
Why is Wenger keen on Vardy now when they are more available strikers on the market who are the same if not better than Vardy and the only reason Arsenal are in pole position to sign him now is because Man.United passed on Vardy to sign Ibrahimovic again Wenger not quick enough or flexing his financial muscle in the market.
At the same time with his experience and how he came up through the game from non league to the Premier league like Ian Wright but Vardy is someone who does not have to depend on Wenger too much or be controlled by him the way he likes to have that control on the younger player's which can be a positive and a negative.
When in the past where we went to Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge and took many of a heavy beating he can be someone where he can be a leader because we are crying out for leaders in this club long gone are the day's of Adams or Keown for example.
This is still talk at the moment and i could go in to more depth on this but you can see why i am in two minds over this.

I completely understand where you're coming from. I was thinking the same thing as soon as I heard the possibility of him going to Arsenal. The market is totally overreacting to this one great year he had. It's typical in sports though. He'll probably get overpaid (one last big one for him no doubt), and he'll end up not living up to the contract.
As far as Wenger is concerned, I just don't know. He should probably retire now, as you guys had a great year, so he could potentially ride into the sunset on a positive note, but he has too much pride to leave it all behind. I know Arsenal fans are growing weary of him though.

That is not a great year in my eyes gvortex7 it is to some Arsenal fans who are still behind Wenger and that's why their is a split among the fans those that are behind him and those who want change.

I mean you guys didn't win the league title, and since expectation are usually high at Arsenal, then I guess you indeed didn't have a great year. But that's only because Leicester had a dream season where nothing went wrong for them. Any other year you would have won it all. Let me tell you, as an Everton fan I'd gladly take second place any time.

What's your personal stance on him now?

Time for Wenger to go said it a long time gvortex7 but what about Everton you could have Koeman as your new manager soon what do you think about that.

I idolized him growing up (technically that whole 1988 Euro winning Dutch team), and he has done an excellent job at Southampton, so I welcome him with open arms. Supposedly he's have about £100 mill to spend this summer because of that deep pocketed new owner of ours. That would be great. We need to make some wholesale changes to this team. Especially on defense and midfield. I hope Lukaku stays though.

He would be the right choice for Everton and that Dutch team at the time was the golden generation of Dutch football.
That is one of the reasons that i can see Koeman taking the job is the big transfer fund he get to work with.

Indeed. When you look at the likes of Adams, Keown, Winterburn, Dixon, Viera etc this current lot are a world apart. Look at me, getting all misty eyed over Arsenal...but they were a great outfit then. Even I couldn't ignore the majesty of Dennis Bergkamp or Thierry Henry in their pomp, as well as that fella who they got from Crystal Palace...

Love Henry. He has a lot of respect for Sunderland from the time we applauded him when warming up a few years ago. He stated that he hasn't forgot the fans for that gesture.

Just 26, still time to become a real hero here. Injury hit spell last year but knows where the net is in terms of games played ratio.

He will also be a replacement for Fletcher who looks to be leaving.
