When you see players like Shane Long going for 12M and Borini fee reported at 14M it's worth the risk the lad has the talent.

If he ends up going off the rails it shouldn't be hard to re coup the fee we are paying.

He must know this is his last chance at a top club.

For 16M yeah top player just needs to get his act together on the pitch can't deny his quality.

In todays market it's a bargain.

I like Giroud decent player to come off the bench when a game isn't going your way but he wouldn't hit a barn door.

I would be surprised if Arsenal don't sign a striker and Centre back before the window shuts.

We need another centre back to replace Thomas Vermaelen and Wenger said he is still looking in the transfer market.

I think Arsenal are a much better team than most people seem to give them credit for. Unlike a lot of squads, they always feel in sync. When I was a teen I used to support Chelsea with pop and I always remembered they'd get these MASSIVE signings but the pieces would never fit. Every player was playing on a one man team, and it's so enjoyable to watch a squad like Arsenal where everyone feels like a team and no one seems to want the glory more than anyone else.

I think the Borini deal is not that bad. He still has time on his side and could get better and he got 10 goals last season, including some high pressure penalties. Don't know if he is coming now but transfer deadline day will be the day if he is. No way shane long is worth 12 million though.

Everyone knows though that English (or should I say British as this trend stems to Irish, Welsh and Scottish players too) are over valued. You pay about three times more than players are actually worth, just because they are "local". That is the only saving grace for a team like Leicester, we won't be able to land local lads but we can sign top players from smaller countries or leagues and get them for a pittance.

You put Irish in the group of British players do you mean N.ireland players because Republic of ireland players are not british.

Borini isn't clinical enough to play for a top team.

Needs 3 or 4 chances before putting the ball in the net.
