That's the understatement of the year. I get that it's only cup play, but you never ever want to lose to a third tier team, especially in this fashion. That's inexcusable for a team like Man U.

I agree it is a shock and not good enough for a team like united but it will take time for van gaal to get things right at that club.

I hope he does, despite the fact that I can't stand Man U, because I like him as a coach (manager), but if Moyes didn't get a fair chance to prove himself, I'm not sure Van Gaal will have it any differently. Only time will tell.

He will get more time than moyes because he is a more experience winning manager and it is still not his own team he is changing that.

It's not a big a shock as some claim. I feel it is being exaggerated. It's small fry in man united's season. Not sure they fancied it at all to be honest.

Wow, I didn't even know about this move until you mentioned it. He's obviously a great player, so I definitely welcome the move, as he can provide veteran leadership and some extra scoring option to the club even at the ripe age of 33. I liken the move to Drgoba going back to Chelsea, and I'm hoping he can stay healthy for us.

What is your point though? United are considered one of the teams that will always have a chance to win the Premier League...and they lost four nil to MK Dons. Compared to Man U we're no one and the defeat is meaningless. For United they were humiliated, as they have been basically all season so far. It's great.

You are a premier league club though. It's a embarrassing defeat. If we lose to Birmingham tonight I too, will be embarrassed as well as ticked off! Especially as we were finalists last year.

I'm not really all that embarrassed. We only lost by one goal, not four, our team are full of injuries and we play where it counts.

Myself, and I've been a fan since the mid 90's, I don't think much of the loss and was actually kind of expecting it. The current team is shite. We need to get rid of Anderson, Cleverly, Young and Chicharito and I think that's about to happen. The arrival of Angel along with Vidal (who has agreed to personal terms with United) and getting some injured players back will really help. All we need now is top class central defender and we're set.
