And don't forget you've got Palace up soon Pizza! If Sunderland and WBA can put a total of 5 goals past us then your lot should be capable of dishing out an absolute battering.

Doom merchant? Moi?

Well, typical Sunderland really. Give themselves a chance then ****** it up!
I think we needed to win Geoff, but I suppose a point gives us a tiny glimmer. Why we didn't start with Borini, I have no idea. N'Doye is a plank (despite the fact he scored for first time tonight) Newcastle have two games in hand now but one of those is tomorrow against Stoke. It is looking like us or them

As for Wickham, every supporter in the ground expected him to score tonight. It is the Sunderland way. He can motivate himself for individual games but he has a heart the size of a pea. He showed what he is (IMO) by celebrating his goal despite being applauded when his name was read out. Horrible, horrible playboy footballer IMO. He was given EVERY chance here and acted like a petulant child (in my opinion) when he was sold.

Now........ Onto Palace, you guys will be fine Geoff. That is a much better point for you guys obviously. Despite all the above, I have to admit Wickham took his goals very well. Palace showed plenty of enterprise. I wasnt that impressed with Cabaye though Geoff. You obviously know way better than me but he looked like he couldn't be bothered with a scrap tonight.

Anyway, congrats Geoff, 1 win and you can relax.

As for us, I think that's it. I just KNOW the mags will win tomorrow night.

I can see it, after everything, Spurs will overtake us now and win the League and we'll never be in this position ever again.
Yeah, it must feel like a big blow Mate. Spurs have a trip to West Ham and a home game against Arsenal though so it won't be easy for them. If they lose tomorrow it's looking good mate.

You've still got more than a fighting chance though! Someone tweeted after the Palace Sunderland game earlier in the season that that result showed why Palace wouldn't get in to Europe and why Sunderland wouldn't go down, and I believe that wise sage will be proved to be correct.

As for us, it's the same across the league - that everyone is beating everyone else - so it'll take two teams below us (Villa are gone) to go on some phenomenal run of 6 straight wins or similar to reel us in and, yeah, I just can't see that happening now while we scrape together the points we need. We're still 9 points clear with 10 to play, if we beat Liverpool and results run right then that could become 12 points with 9 to play.

Bournemouth will probably finish higher than us which is some fall considering we were flirting with the european places not too long ago, but if we've got nothing to fight for in the league then that'll leave Pardew free to concentrate on his precious cup run.

After tonight, things might look grim Geoff. 3 points behind Barcodes if they win and they have a game in hand.

Man, if I'd known both Arsenal and Spurs would give away the three points, I would have been happy to share a point with West Brom. Funny ain't it, only a week or two ago, people were saying Arsenal had ended our Premier League campaign. They are so far behind us, I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure that is wrong!

Well it really is us or them Now. It's going to be unbearable. Great result tonight but bloody Swansea had to go and win. Can't believe it!

Congrats Pizzamorg, what a night for you. It was a hard game for Spurs like I said. Keep the faith.

That's the thing bro, it might seem like your world is falling in whenever you don't pick up another three points towards that title, but in this league this season...boy, there are so many twists and turns. You had some FANTASTIC results last night and with Spurs playing Arsenal at the weekend they could end up drawing, so if you win then the gap will be back to 5 points over Spurs and 8 points over Arsenal with 9 games left. An Arsenal win wouldn't be so bad either as that would halt Spurs' charge.

Steed, Swansea winning was a blow but Newcastle losing was not, so you're right: it's looking like a fight between the two of you, as you said.

As for Palace, we've got Liverpool and Leicester next in the League, if we end up conceding less than 10 goals between the two games I'll be very impressed. A point or two is the absolute best I'm gonna hope for.

As far as I'm concerned, unless you guys choke, the title is yours to lose. At least we may get a Hollywood movie out of this extraordinary season.

Dude, you can have all three. I want you to have them. But please don't smash 4 or 5 past us!!!

Hell, if we get through Liverpool and Leicester having lost each game by the odd goal I'd gladly take that and move on. We've got games against Norwich and Newcastle coming up next month, win those two and we're safe on 39 points I think. I just don't want the GD to take a hammering in the meantime!

What's with the 4K discussion in a football thread? I shall write a strongly worded message to the moderators! Enough is enough.

(Penton and Geoff know what I mean!)
