The way that this season's been handled (starting from when Fat Sam left, which I still think was partly due to him not getting the backing in the transfer market going forward) is simply shambolic, I'd say that we were like some tinpot club that's just been promoted which doesn't have a clue how to conduct itself, but then that's an insult to newcomers like 'uddersfield and (gulp) even Brighton who've come up and given a good account of themselves thus far.

It reaches a point when, as Steedy says, it turns irretrievably toxic and this has been brewing at Palace for the best part of two years already. Too many shite players on fat wages doing **** all for the cause. To add injury to insult, Benteke's got knee ligament damage. I dunno what we're gonna do without all his goals. What? Oh
I didn't really know much about why Allardyce left, but your fortunes have definitely changed considerably since. That's for sure. Despite all of that your squad has still been in most games this year, except for the last one of course. I personally think Everton has had lot more bad defeats than Palace, and I don't think there is a huge gap between our teams from a goal scoring standpoint. We both stink offensively at the moment. Things may be toxic within the organization, and it may take something drastic to change that, but the season is still young, and there is still the January transfer window to come. So it's not quite the end of the world yet.

Ellis you are killing my beloved football team. Please leave and take Bain and Grayson with you. You will be remembered with pure hatred for your (imo) clueless appointments, your lack of football knowledge and your sheer stupidity for not learning from your mistakes. You have destroyed the fan base of this once proud club and wiped out any atmosphere at the Stadium Of Light. You have killed all hope and we can not see any light at the end of the tunnel. All we see is asset stripping and strikers who wouldn’t get a game for any other championship club. It breaks my heart to see Defoe leave and us get Vaughan. 1 goal in 10 games.

That is all.

so sorry about that result steedy. I've long lived by the footballing mantra that no matter how bad things are for you there's always someone in a worse position. Losing our Prem status is one thing, but dropping into the third tier is unthinkable.

Palace haven't gone below the second tier in 40 years, and if they sink into the Championship then I think I know the next piece of CPFC footballing history that these eejits will rewrite. Gonna be such a struggle to bounce back up, look at Villa, Hull and Boro.

Don't know what to say Steedeel but the fans deserve better than this.

Hard to take Tob. It’s the effect it’s having on the supporters. We have been here before but last time the players were giving everything for the club, the fans were still behind the club and everyone was pulling in the same direction. I can see us going straight down now. We have a calamity keeper and a striker who doesn’t score goals,

Just a shame mate to see a club with no direction and control.

Mirror image for Palace at the moment TBH, especially that last sentence.

It’s really hard to describe how different things are this time Geoff. SAFC fans have put up its so much shit in the past bu we always bounce back. This time feels different. It’s like invasion of the body snatchers where our fans have been replaced with pod people. We are known for our support and the famous ‘Roker Roar’. I am 42 and I have never known such a hostile, desperate mood at our football stadium. 20,000 fans down and even some of our season ticket holders are skipping games I hear.

I hear what you say about Palace Geoff. Like you say, it’s just sticking a plaster over the crack if they stay up. It has to be wholesale change in the way the club is ran. Of course, you know this already as it is your club, but as a outsider, yep I can see the parallels.

The sooner Saturday comes round the better. We're now 12th in the table after the loss against Arsenal on Monday night. Watford are one of our bogey sides, and I think we were beat by them when we last played them last season.

Regarding last weekend's highlights programmes, I enjoyed The Women's Football Show more, as even though Match of the Day 2 didn't have annoying pundits on it (Shearer, Chris Sutton and Phil Neville), 2 Good 2 Bad wasn't on at the end of the show.

I cannot remember the last time I watched MotD. I'm not a rabid devourer of all things football outside of my team's interests so when Palace lose I tune out...ergo I haven't had much of a reason to tune back in lately!!!

I can't even remember the last game I sat down and watched on Sky, now that I think about it. I'm past caring at this point.

I checked Ceefax late last night, and saw that you won 4-2 away to BATE Borisov. Well done, and also belated congratulations to Celtic, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham. A draw for both Everton and Liverpool, but a draw is better than nothing.

I see there's another England international World Cup qualifier on the TV next week. But when England are playing the week after, the Premiership has an international break. And yet the Premiership teams are playing this weekend.

Good luck to everyone this weekend with your teams.

Don't know if this will cheer you up Geoff, but (and I wish I could remember which series of the comedy panel quiz show it was on) on an edition of Mock the Week, Hugh Dennis impersonated Roy Hodgson impersonating Winston Churchhill.

I'm starting to run out of rubber bricks to throw at the TV when Lineker, Shearer etc. are on Match of the Day and Match of the Day 2.
