I wouldn't mind a new 4k transfer of "A Few Good Men".

I watched it tonight. It has a MPEG-2 transfer.

It could really do with a new AVC encode from a 4k transfer.

Here's wishing. It's one of my favorite movies.

Received a copy of After Earth yesterday and it it is indeed another 'Mastered in 4k' title complete with the picture drop-out issues on my LG player that I experienced with the Ghostbusters M4K release

Sorry to hear that. You'll remember I had the same problem with GB on Sony's flagship S790 player, so I would imagine that After Earth is also affected on that machine. (Soooo glad I sent it back.)

Seeing as this is now happening on a brand new title rather than catalogue re-release #347, Sony and LG's tech bods will hopefully get off their arses and work on a firmware fix. After all, this will only occur more and more with future Mi4K titles if the problem isn't solved.

I cannot help but wonder...is Sony going to be releasing anymore of these titles? It seems like an announcement for the next wave is way overdue.

It may be that the brand itself has now been established, so those bare bones catalogue re-issues are gonna dry up, not least because Sony's proper 4K service is officially up and running.

Its not just Sony. Half my titles that utilized Dolby truHD have dropouts on my Sony player but play fine on my insignia. Paramount, Disney, WB....but if a disconnect the player from my receiver and run it directly to the TV no drop outs occur.

Sounds like your Insignia should be your primary player instead of the Sony, then.

So far, there have only been two waves of MI4K Blu-rays, correct? And everything from now on will be MI4K?

I want to get this and place the MI4K disc in that folder where the production pictures were placed on the regular Blu-ray release. Bought it months ago, but waiting for the 4K version to drop in price to see it in a slightly better quality. Sounds crazy.

Hmm, I wonder how 4k's life on the market will be. Considering that Blu-Ray is a optimal, satisfactory format, and that the majority of people have 36-55in televisions, I wonder how successful this will be. I reckon, 4k is great for people that have projection rooms, but even then, those people are in a minority.

The 4K market will be like a quarter of say the Laserdisc base, which itself was very much a niche.

I think 4K will do pretty well with front projection owners. Outside of that, it's going to be a very tough sell.
