Well, I'll have you know that with theatrical films there is such a thing called "final cut" which presumes there has been a series of previous edits.

I think you should send me the rushes first and then I'll decide on if/how they are to become content appropriate.

Don't limit yourself.

Please no, I already purposely try to stay away from the top of any page just so that I don't see how many PM's have totaled up since my last visit.

If you need help reviewing the dailies, or if mystiksuicide needs a DP for that matter, my PM box is open. Although, if you're talking of going feature film, probably best to get a UK production company involved so you can get a legitimate writer from over there.

A non-WB related question for any of the insiders

How closely, if it all, do studios monitor or watch forums? I'd think they'd all at least have a few people casually browsing to get a feel for customers' opinions of new releases, etc.

Can someone give me a link to a listing of all Warner BD titles available, please? Thanks.

Go to http://www.blu-raystats.com/index.php and select Warner from the studio drop down on the left and click filter.

That should do it.

Or, go to www.blu-raystats.com and sort by Studio.

Edit: bomb beat me to it

Penton-Man - thanks for the tid bits.

As I understand it if 'Some Studios' are looking at Q1 numbers from next year that could drag this war out another quarter. That would be fustrating. :-/

Anyway I'm convinced here that everyone is buying as many as they can (see other threads) Sony just needs to learn to tap into PS3 owners, which they have just started to do. They need to keep it going however, perhaps a Blu-ray Trailer section in the PSN would help.

I meant what I said when “these things take time” so, buy Blu-ray discs this holiday season esp. WB titles if you see something interesting. I mean it. We have a chance, an excellent chance to end this damn war once and for all, so speak with your pocketbooks.
Everyone, EVERYONE, check out the link in my sig. Update your sig with the Warner and other BD titles you'll be buying *THIS MONTH* and then go out and buy them. Rally the troops to action. Win the WARner.

If you have the energy to burn blabbing with Penton all day on this thread about Warner's exlusivity, but you don't actually *DO* anything to help the cause, what's the point? DO IT.

Actually it seemed all night......last night.

Plus, I would rather hear mystik groan than babble.
I don’t think she babbles anyway though.

5th quarter does not mean Q1.
5th quarter means the month of Jan., at least to studio people.
And often times, what people say they intend to do (in terms of waiting)….. and what they end up doing ---doesn’t always happen.

Again, buy as many WB discs as you can this holiday season-- and then let this thing play itself out.

Thank you for the clarification Penton, that makes me feel much better that we don't have to *potentially* wait out an entire Q1 (through April). Only through January is very do-able. Thank you for the updates, and sorry for royally misinterpreting and misconstruing your posts last night.

My question for insiders is am I crazy?

My interpretation of the buy Warner BRD is that we aren't really voting, but confirming. It seems to me that there's a framework of an agreement in place where the major issues are agreed. Of course, any contract has many, many details and the lawyers take their sweet time negotiating those points. Also, until it's signed the deal could fall through.

The #1 Warner (and overall) HD disc 300 sold about 2 to 1 in favor of Blu-ray. Warner has Harry Potter coming up as a new release and a significant catalogue title in BladeRunner. In order to confirm the direction it would be very helpful for those to be similar to 300.

This makes signing a deal and the subsequent press releases much easier. Something like "We stated in the past that we wanted consumer to decide and consistently they have chosen Blu-ray disc buy about a 2:1 margin."

If, though, HP or BladeRunner were about 50/50 in sales, then the above statement wouldn't be accurate. It might make WB hesitate and continue their neutral position.

If I'm not crazy can we do the Blu-ray.com super-secret handshake?

Some of us understood what you were getting at PM...

Hopefully the mods will permit/forgive me for this post, but here are some articles regarding Mr. Bell's (I prefer to not mention his first name given the shame I feel) thoughts on the "superiority" of HD DVD...

Non-Warner question for the insiders,

If blu-ray was lossing a BDA company $360,000,000 a quarter, would that company and/or the format survive while taking those kinds of losses?.

It can't be mentioned enough times that Mr. Bell also co-designed HD DVD from the start.

He works for Paramounted... he's their "technical genius" who came up with all the reasons that Paramount went with HD-DVD. He was a former employee of the guy who invented DVD, and they used to all work for Toshiba.
