Some people have better TVs. That don't make better people.

Finally got around to watching (did not see at the theater). That was slightly overhyped. Good Marvel flick? Yes. Best ever? Hell no. Anyways, Hollywood's feel good media machine aside, it was a good flick, just not great. Not sure how Ragnarock comes out to less fanfare than this one, but OK.
PQ was nice, audio was constrained at times. |

Its decent and gets the job done but is hardly "all that". Definitely some pacing issues and had a lot of "by the numbers" plot points. You could pretty much tell what was going to happen like 5-10 mins into the movie. Thats fine - the entire Super hero genre is very cookie-cutter. I get that ![]() The audio track on this disc is simply weak. Turning up the volume helps but doesnt fully rectify the issue either. Disney has been known for weak audio tracks and this disc fits the bill. Contrast this audio track with The Patriot which I watched last night and that disc is reference for video and audio. |

Can anyone in the UK confirm this disc has Dolby Vision? I see it all over the US versions but the UK one hasn't got it listed anywhere. It only lists Audio and Atmos.

I popped this in yesterday morning to see what it looks like on my new setup, which is a TCL 55R617 and an LG UBK90, and the action sequence which takes place in a forest and occurs at the beginning of the film is too dark; everything is crushed. It was similarly crushed on my old set up too.

I've never noticed too much darkness in the beginning. I think it looks just like it did in the theaters. My setup is definitely modest I would have to guess, but it handles things very nicely.

That whole scene in the apartment looked like the city was experiencing a huge blackout

Wasn't it night at the start of Doctor Strange? Looked good here in 3D.

Maybe too dark in the beginning, but do you all remember iron man 1 in the theater? It was full of grain
They changed it for the bluray. For the better i might add. I thought the Panther bluray for the opening fight was actually watchable, unlike the theater. Dont know about the 4k. Sometimes a change, like making it lighter (ala bluray) is better. Dont really care about artist intent (sometimes) or "but thats how it looked in the theater." |
