Default Question about rigging up a way to fix the viewing angle for my family's DLP

Hello all, I have a little dilemma here. Well, actually my parents do, my TV setup is perfect, it is the downstairs family TV that needs some help. And I figured who else to ask than the fine members of the bluray forum.

Here's the problem.

You see, we have a DLP Samsung but it's about 6 feet off the ground and unless you are a pretty good ways back the colors are a little more bland and it's harder to see because of the viewing angle. Now if this were an LCD or Plasma then we could simply attach it to the wall and then tilt it a bit and be good to go. Unfortunately that's not an option. So I was wondering if anyone had a safe solution that would tilt the TV just a little bit so that it would look better when sitting down.

Thanks for any help!

Honestly, the best thing for a rear projection would be to have it at eye level. If that's not possible, I have an idea of a rig they used to have on the Walmart TV wall. With the TV's on top, there would be a slant under the TV angling it down and two arms above it to hold it there. The arms were just slanted metal bars that could extend and they had a type of flat hook on the end and they were padded. The arms themselves were connected to a bar that was connected to the wall. I'm not too familiar what hardware stores carry of if it would be easy to make, but the idea exists.

The mount allows you to tilt the display up and down about 35 degrees off center max. cheap remedy?

I went straight from my rear projection TV to LCD, so I don't know much about DLP's. Are they top heavy? I wouldn't recommend tilting it unless you have a way to "catch" or hold the top to keep it from falling forward.

If you have some DIY skills, you could build a wedge shaped platform to set the tv on. Just make sure it has a little lip in the front to prevent sliding and maybe even a strap around the tv to hold it down. I'm sure you could get 10-15 degrees down angle.
