HOME Blu-ray Review

Just got done watching this. The images were breathtaking, the information - shocking. I hope people all over realize what is taking place and start changing things. Otherwise, nothing will be left.

I guess even after this documentary you still don't believe we have an effect on our home, there is nothing that can be done to save you.

Anyways, if you have not see it - go watch it now. It's amazing. I have to say - it puts "Planet Earth" to shame.

yea watched it the other nite, Great Doc!! It makes reference to the 'rich' oil nations living high on the hog wasting the resources that got them there. An indoor ski slope in Qatar? A bit overkill

Yeah, I think UAE - Dubai is one of those places that is exceeding it's grasps and taking more and more than it will ever give back. Sure it's cool to see what they are doing - however, it's terrible all at the same time.

Those excessive skyscrapers? They built land in the ocean-'because they could' and the funny thing about those regions is, They hire Third world nationals to do all the manual labor. I know in Kuwait you get paid by the govt based on your family size. Amazing all the wasted resources being abused there

So I got mine in the mail today and popped it right in. Unfortunately, the new agey soundtrack matched the beat of my heart and put me to sleep! I tried to stick with it, and it did get a lot more interesting as soon as man showed up. But I gave after that to take a nap. I've got work to do right now, but I'm hoping I'm past the "sleepy" boring part.

Actually, I just remembered before I took my nap I popped in Baraka and enjoyed an entirely different experience. The music was mysterious rather than soothing and the appearance of creatures and the buildings putting scale into the imagery hooked me in much easier. But the deed was done: I turned it off and slept.

Hehe..my wife did the same thing, felt tired....but what she didn't know is how things progress after the first half. She was expecting something along the lines of "Planet Earth" but what she didn't know was that the documentary was setting things up of the Earth's history and building up to the serious second half of the film. I kept with it and enjoyed it but she grew tired waiting to see more animals...hehe...

Just finished watching it and found it absolutely spectacular.

I found it better than Planet Earth as at least there's a message behind it. I felt Planet Earth (which is still excellent) was more or less just beautiful images pasted together.

Yup. I think PE got all the attention because it was the first "real" blu-ray to showcase just how good HD is.

I'm amazed that nobody is talking about this release at all considering the enormous amount of publicity it got.

It's a must buy.

What did you guys think? I think this may be my new demo title. The aerial photography is amazing and it sort of let's you see the earth in a whole new way.... even after watching Planet Earth. It just felt as if I was seeing a different planet... almost. I think Home is a notch above Planet Earth as far as PQ and maybe it's just due to the impressive angles of the aerial shots. Simply amazing. Everyone should pick up a copy to put with their Planet Earth. One movie for the earth itself and one for the creatures that inhabit it!

Next up.... The Universe. Has anyone seen that? Review? What about Earth? How do you all think that compares to Home? I have not seen that yet. Opinions?

P.S. I'm not saying Home is better than Planet Earth as the latter is MUCH more extensive!
