Default Disney Duck Tales in Blu-ray?

Does Disney have any plan to release older made for TV shorts or TV Series like Duck Tales or Walt Disney Treasures in Blu-ray? The current Duck Tales released in DVD is horrible. Picture quality is awful, even for DVD standard. It's time for them to rescan it and re-release it in Blu-ray.

I'd buy DuckTales day 1. But there's a Seagal's chance at the Oscars of that happening!

It could happen. What you forget is that telvision is moving to HD in droves, so old shows could be upgraded to HD for that reason alone.

I'd love to see DA shows on BD, but it's a long shot. It took Disney forever just to release some of the series on DVD. They still haven't finished it and it doesn't look like they will in the near future, let alone start releasing it all over again on BD, which would also need remastering. In other words, they didn't see enough of an audience to finish it on DVD and they're not gonna try again on BD anytime soon. It's a shame really, because Disney itself is largely at fault for how poorly DA DVDs did, what with their lack of promotion, availability and sort of possessive mentality that won't let them license out anything inherently Disney, even (and especially) if they don't see it fit to release it themselves. It'll probably be a long time coming, but if we get it, I'll more than welcome it.

The thing here is it may be remastered anyways for television. I mean stuff like Stark Trek gets remastered in HD mainly for syndication. The Blu releases are incing on the cake. So they may remaster them anyways to fill up programming on an HD cable channel in the near future. Since most of the work on the masters would pretty much be finished anyways, it wouldn't take much effort to slap it onto Blus.

Stuff like Star Trek is very different from DA cartoons in that the latter aren't exactly in syndication. They aren't even on the air as Disney hardly shows more recent cartoons on their channels, let alone the old ones. Unfortunately they just aren't in the cards for BD right now, but hope springs eternal.
