Sweet...I'm assuming PCM and/or TrueHD, and maybe even IME.

If this one sells well, the others will surely follow.

Actually, it has been said that they all will be released on the same day.

No IME on any of the HP movies. HD DVD will get IME on HP4 if the UK release is anything to go by, it has FBI warnings - which is strange considering the FBI have limited/no jurisdiction here.

HD DVD will get TrueHD on HP4 but no lossless on the rest while Blu-ray will get PCM tracks for all.

This is one of the big releases that I've been waiting for! I love these movies and can't wait to watch them in Blu! Order of the Phoenix and Prisoner of Azkaban are my favorites, but they'll all be great! Thanks WB!

Same thing with Wings of Honemaise (anime program) Japanese version disc.

You will encounter a menu at the opener which requires you to pick either English or Japanese. If you select English, you will get an FBI warning....... lolz

Default What's the deal with warner and Potter

Ok, acording to HIGH DEF DIGEST

As the studio has done with several recent high-profile titles, however, the Blu-ray and the HD DVD editions will not be created equal.

Not unlike the recently-released '300' and 'Blood Diamond,' the HD DVD edition of 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' will contain a trio of exclusive bonus features, including a "In-Movie Experience" video commentary featuring "the cast from Dumbledore's Army coming together to share memorable moments," the ability to "Pick Your Favorite Scenes" and assemble your favorite clips from the movie into a montage, and additional web-enabled content including downloads and other goodies to be announced.

Were is the love for BLU we more disk space were is are part of the pie were is our extra love ? so whats the deal ????

Anyone else just want to see & hear the movies in Hi-Def picture & sound? I myself could care less about all these extras. Just give me the blooper reel and deleted scenes.

I never mess with any extra features either, but that isn't the point. It is time Blu-ray caught up in that regard since there is a small market for extras and the interactive things. It gives the HD DVD side something to tout and it sounds like something worthwhile to someone considering getting into the market. It has been a big negative for Blu-ray despite the fact you and I don't care about the issue for personal use.

Why is Hermione flicking someone off on the cover? That's what it looks like, they should have changed it.

I have contacted The Leaky Cauldron, hopefully at least one of these sites will tell somebody they know at Warner they prefer Blu-Ray. Warner really should choose a side, and they need to takes hints from the sales of movies like 300. Maybe they want a few more tests with titles like Harry Potter. If all or most of the Warner movies sale better on Blu-Ray, I could imagine Warner Brothers dumping HD DEAD early next year.

Default I asked MuggleNet (a Harry Potter fan site) to endorse Blu-ray

Mugglenet, the largest and most popular Harry Potter Site, knows people at Warner Brothers. Now HP was very important to Warner during the Summer, it grossed $915 Million, making it the Ninth Highest Grossing Film ever according to Wikipedia. So I thought that if Mugglenet would tell Warner they preferred Blu-Ray, combined with Blu-Ray's popularity and sales figures for Warner Movies like 300, than it could help Warner go Blu-Ray exclusive sometime down the road. I know that's sounds crazy, but little things like this could help. I contacted Mugglenet and told them that if they would tell Warner they preferred Blu-Ray, than it could help end the format war sooner. Don't worry, I was very polite and said "Please" and "I understand if you can't" and I mentioned Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, I also said that consumers would lose money on HD DVD and that the sooner it was over, the more money that would be saved. I think we should try every little thing possible we can do to help Blu-Ray. And these people could help. If you want to contact Mugglenet, you can do so here:

http://www.mugglenet.com/feedback/

and at their podcast:

http://www.mugglenet.com/mugglecast/...ge=contact.php

It says on their podcast that they may not respond to all their messages, but that they do read them all.

They also have information to contact the actors in the HP movies, if you ever wanted to do that.

I'm not a big fan of Harry Potter, but I can see this being HUGE on Blu Ray. I wonder how paramount will fare against this and the Ocean's Trilogy this holiday season. Both will be big sellers on Blu, not to mention Spider Man.

Not sure if this has been asked or not, but do any of you know if this is going to be the extended versions? A La LOTRs like, with deleted scenes edited in with the theatrical?
