Default * Name 1 Blu-ray Title you would recommend that people probably do not have! *

I am just looking for one really solid Blu Ray Title you would recommend to people either because of Overall Picture Quality, Overall Sound Quality, and/or just because it is a cool movie. This may be a title that is easily overlooked or easily slept on, and not necessarily and undiscovered gem.

I would recommend Shinobi. I know I know, the picture quality is not off the chart but the story is pretty awesome. You have 2 groups of like 4-5 fighters, fighting to the death. Each fighter has their own special skills/move set. The effects are pretty awesome.

I also love the look of the movie. The color is a bit soft, but may be attributed to the crazy color filters being used in the film.

Some of you already have it, I am sure, but if not, check it out!!

Shinobi's a great little flick. That part pictured in the background is sweetness.

Hmm, I don't know. It's always hard to just list one in these kinds of choices. So I'll say three:

Ip Man: Some may have it, but if you don't then you shouldn't waste any more time. It's a must have title starring Donnie Yen as Bruce Lee's former master.

Exiled: A superbly poetic gunplay film directed by genius director, Johnnie To (a personal fav. of mine).

Redbelt: A personal favorite film of mine from last year. It's sort of got a slow pace to it, but when it builds up to the end it all just comes together. I don't know what it is, but the ending just does it for me. It puts it all together and really just kind of makes you respect what you watched. For some reason, it gives me the same feeling I got when I watched the ending to Best of the Best. It just made the film for me.

I don't know too many people that own or have even seen Sunshine. It's a great movie. One of my favorites. Repo a Genetic Opera is pretty good too. A bit on the Gothy side but I am a weirdo like that.

I really wish they would put Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Blu. I love that movie.

^^Repo's a good choice and I personally love it, but get why it turns a lot of folks off.

Two discs that get no love around here:

Four Brothers: Great John Singleton flick, top shelf PQ/AQ

The Wackness: Awesome coming of age story set in 90's Brooklyn. Good looking disc too.

If we're going to include imports, In Bruges is where it's at.

The Host, great movie but most people don't seem to like subtitled movies.

Great choice with Sunshine dude! Love it!

Hedwig... isn't that Harry Potter's owl? Did they make a movie about his adventures or something? Please tell us more.

I would say Boondock Saints. All around good movie and most people havent seen it. We have passed around our blu and our dvd to multiple people. They all love it. Still want to rent Baraka. Sounds really good

I will say that 'Let the Right One In' is the most surprisingly good blu I have ever seen. You can't get much better than that. I remember when they were showing it exclusively at the Kimbell Art Museum here this past fall for like a month, and I remember thinking, "what the heck is this?". A friend of mine actually went to see it and said that it was amazing! I was questioning his respect for good movies, but OH MAN!! I couldn't have been more wrong.

Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a musical about a Communist Berlin Tranny Glam Rocker that is telling his lifes story through his music. It's really twisted but hilarious. DO NOT WATCH IF YOU ARE A HOMOPHOBE OR INSUCURE WITH YOUR MANHOOD. Great music that ranges from Midnight Radio which sounds like a Bowie song to Sugar Daddy which has a massive country twang. He is stalking his former "Butt Boy" Tommy Gnosis who has become a huge music success off of the music that they wrote together because he wants credit for writting the music. It really is a great movie. I had my doubts until someone actually made me watch it and needless to say, I loved it and it took like 2 weeks to find a DVD of it to buy. I had half of circuit city looking through thier DVD section cause they had 1 copy that was misplaced.

Needless to say it has nothing to do with Harry Potter's Owl. It is also not a movie for kids. However it is a great story that is absolutely hilarious in a very twisted and perverted kinda way. The music is great. Here are some links to some of the videos of the songs and a trailer to the movie.

I actually have the soundtrack on my IPOD. Me and my friends love it. I made my girlfriend watch it for the first time and she loved it. It is great to watch with people that have never seen it just to watch thier reactions to certain stuff in the movie. Most people that Hate Rocky Horror end up loving Hedwig.

The Orphanage - great foreign horror/suspense; very hitchcock style; not a lot of gore, VERY psychologically terrifying. Awesome PQ/AQ.

Lives of Others - great foreign drama; won oscar for best foreign; Stasi wiretapping people's homes (most homes were tapped in 80's east germany); this is a spy's story and his moral dilemma. In my top 10 all-time.

Tell no one - a guy's wife was murdered 8 years ago. now he gets an email from her with a live video feed of her at a subway station...great great thriller!!
