Unforgiven Blu-ray 20th anniversary

Unforgiven Blu-ray

I was thinking about buying it. This would be my first blind buy as I've never seen this movie. This site gave it great reviews and it has won several awards back in the day. I'm kinda shakey on buying a Blu-ray of a movie that released in the early 90's.

To all the Unforgiven owners or people that have seen this Blu, should I buy it?

Yes. Yes you are.

Also, since when are the 90s old?

As long as the film is in good condition, there's no reason it can't look phenomenal on blu-ray regardless of the year in which it was produced.

Don't forget, 35mm film has a higher resolution than even 1080p. Even classics from the 30s can look amazing since they were shot on film. The upcoming Wizard of Oz box set is going to be fantastic, and Robin Hood (1939) is a revelation.

Unless the film elements are in bad shape, there's no reason a film from the 1930s all the way through the 1990s can't look great in high-def.

I should say it's older than any Blu-ray than I've been considering buying. I do take a lot of stock in what the reviewer on this site and you guys think.

I got my 3 weeks ago, watched few days ago and one of best western also has good PQ. (it was blind buy for me).

Pretty much. There are new releases which look rather dreadful on Blu, while there are classics (by which I mean, pre-1990) films that look amazing. It's a case-by-case thing, but the reviews here are quite helpful.

Despite what would seem to be the OP's somewhat-misguided metric for pinpointing quality Blus, I'd still thank him for pointing out the Amazon sale. Just grabbed a copy

I am going to as well! Quick question though before I order: Is there anything else on that website that is cheap (14.99 or less) that would make my order more 'internationally-friendly' in terms of shipping

I nabbed a copy of Unforgiven, as well as The Ninth gate, and an Endoskull since I didn't already have one

I was in Future Shop today an I looked at Unforgiven ( it was Warners Best Of line and it had a white and golden slip cover) it was $ 9.99 but they said it on the back under specs it was 4:3 1080p WTF.

It looks great on blu, and it's NOT THAT OLD!!! Buy w/ total confidence, it is a good film!

Forget Westerns, this is one of the greatest FILMS of all time, period. A must have, got it very early in my BD-hood.
