Question SAW films?

I apologise as there's probably a thread about this somewhere here but the search engine doesn't like the term "saw".
Could anyone tell me what the best versions of the SAW films (1 to 5) are?
I'm never sure wheither to get UK versions or import the US ones.
Thanks folks

The only issue with the U.S. releases is that the original film is the edited R-rated version.

You forget the fact that the U.S version of the original movie has only DTS ES sound and not uncompressed one, and the video codec is Mpeg-2...

The UK version has only a compressed DTS audio track and I don't know about the PQ

You should buy the French one or the japanese one if you can afford the import, they both have DTS-HD MA sound and the French one has very good PQ (I don't know about the PQ of the Japanese one).

Details here:

French version:

Doesn't have English subs but no French forced subs either so if you don't care about subs it's ok

Japanese one:

Have English subs

But are these other versions uncut?

I don't know exactly BUT the French one is the director's cut so so I guess there is no cut except the director's ones

Dunno about the Japanese one but it seems like it runs 103 min according to cdjapan!

The UK and German versions are uncut, but I'm not sure about the Japanese version. It seems that both the UK and German versions only come with DTS-HD HR audio and not lossless HD MA, so I guess the Japanese version has them beat in this regard with its Dolby TrueHD 6.1 audio track.

That seems to have been debunked.

For part 2 you'll probably want to get the German version as well. The US version of part 5 looked and sounded great.
