Default Projector with 'Paint on Screen' ?

Anyone tried something like this ?

http://www.paintonscreen.com/

How does it compare to a screen?

Pretty much every projector home theater I have seen (tons on here) all have screens. Is there any reason to not use a screen? Is a screen always going to be best?

I would be worried about imperfections on the wall that would appear on the projected picture.

I can't say first hand but head over to avsforum and there is all kinds of stuff about DIY screens. from paint to making one.
I'm using a 70.00 elite manual pull down (tigerdirect) and it has worked great for over two years. I would like to upgrade to a better one with a little higher gain.

I'd imagine itd look great as long as the wall is pretty solid and as mentioned doesnt have imperfections. though anything is better than statikcat's boostvision setup

I painted my screen with this company and it looks fantastic. You don't notice any imperfections in the wall unless you are less than 12 inches away.

All the same, always do a good sanding of the wall you would paint, it makes a huge difference as well.

It took a little less than half a gallon to paint mine, which is...I haven't even measured it, I just went by the throw distance of my projector. It's BIG though.
