Default sub problems

hello everyone, I own a 15" audio acoustic sub hd. problem is when watching cinemax or hbo movies it's response comes and goes.this has even happened a few times with bluray discs..It sometimes waits til there is heavy bass and starts booming again. any help as always would be appreciated.

What do you have your low pass filter/crossover settings at on the sub and in your receiver?

It sounds to me that your subwoofer may be timing out (shuting down) and then comes alive again when there is some real deep bass action. Are your main speakers set to "small" or any other frequency other than "large?" If you do have your speakers set to large, and there is very little LFE action, your subwoofer would shut off.

Good point, as I should not have assumed he has them set to small.......

if it's indeed shutting off due to non-use, another fix would be to switch it to "on". My sub has the power switch with "standby" and "on"...in standby it will shut down if unused but switch's on automatically when 80hz or less is detected.

just a thought

problem is, the auto on function doesnt seem to work at all.

i would tho consider placing it on the on position.
