Hello there,
I need help trying to figure out what device the forum users would recommend for playback of Blu-ray digital copies. I'm getting overwhelmed at all the reviews at Amazon that discuss everything about these devices except what counts for me, namely, the ability to store digital copies for playback. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. |

It really depends on how you plan to use it. I went through the same thing. I got one cause I drive around in a van all day for work and wanted to listen to something other than the radio. After really looking at the options I came to the conclusion that the regular Ipod Classic was right for my needs. If you are actually going to be Watching the video and not listening to it then the Touch is the way to go. If you are going to be listening then why spend the extra money on a bigger screen and less space?

Shouldn't be any issues that I know of. The digital copy is downloaded through Itunes so it should just load onto it with no problems. I have a couple movies I listen to while driving on mine. I put in the code and it downloaded it. Hooked up my Ipod and it downloaded it and haven't had any problems.

If you want something small and portable, pick up a iPod Nano 16 GB for $179.
However, I would almost always recommend the 32 GB iPod Touch for $299 (or $399 for the 64 GB). With the Touch, you can play video, audio, games, browse the internet, check email, update Facebook, etc. There is so much value in the Touch. I am finding that the Touch has actually saved me money. For example, there is a free SONOS app that saved me $300 plus for a cost of a SONOS remote. There are room acoustics apps that save thousands of dollars in unneeded hardware costs (see http://www.studiosixdigital.com/). The Touch is the single greatest tech ever. If your primary reason for an iPod (Nano or Touch) is to view the digital copies of the Blu-Rays you have bought or otherwise obtained, I say go with the Touch. CoolMilo gave you all of the things that the Touch can do.
I bought a 32GB 2nd Generation Touch about a month ago (stupid me I should have waited and bought the 64GB model for the same price ![]() Overall, you cannot go wrong with the Touch if price is not a major factor for you. Peace |

The itouch is simply the informal name for the ipod touch, and like the ipod classic and ipod nano, can play videos. The only thing with the ipod touch is I would recommend getting one with a higher capacity if you want more videos - they announced a 64GB model this past week. So any type of ipod, with the exception of the ipod shuffle will play the digital copies included with your Blu-rays. Only problem is some studios, especially with older titles that were the first to feature digital copies, might not be itunes compatible, which all you have to do is look at the insert included with the title for which has itunes and which don't.

I am hoping for a larger iPod Touch sometime in the future. I would like a 10 to 12 inch screen (call it an iTablet or whatever). |

Me too, but that shouldn't discredit the iPod Touch. It is an amazing machine. I just got a GTA clone game on it called Gangstarr that is just like Vice City but obviously the graphics and physics are QUITE as good. There are so many games and useful applications in the App store, it's insane.
