Default Roman Polanski is arrested and The French are outraged

http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/2009092...08599192650800

He had sex with a 13 year old. I am sorry I don't feel sorry if he goes to jail.

I wonder how many of the "I hope he goes to hell" people are Christians who should be practicing forgiveness.

After all, hell is a Christian thing.

Personally this matters little to me, his movies aren't really that good anyway.

The idea of a hell has been around a lot longer than Christianity.

What he did was unforgivable , but people will keep buying his films on Blu-ray and DVD.

Anyway, back on topic, Polanski is a very talented filmmaker, but there's simply no excuse for what he did. He should have faced the music way back when. He would have done his time and been out many years ago had he not fled. Now, there's a very good chance that he could spend the rest of his days behind bars.

How is it hypocritical, are you saying we as rapists shouldn't throw stones,LOL.
Maybe you are speaking of forgiveness and yes I agree with that right after he serves his time for raping a minor child he might be forgiven by some folks, but seeing how he hid from this crime for so many years surely shows his own feelings of guilt, so let him ease his soul of such a great burden by resting peaceful like in jail.

And this has what, exactly, to do with this thread? It's wonderful how you can make such a broad and all-encompassing statement like this with absolutely NO evidence to defend your accusations. Isn't it nice how the internet allows one to hide behind their computer screens and hurl insults at the majority of Americans? Gotta love it!

Says the guy with the Matrix avatar, which, as we know, is one of the most heavy handed religous overtone filled movies ever.

Either way, Hell has been around as an idea years before Christianity.

Thanks! I just wanted to read the self-righteous statement of a non, or, anti-Christian, like yourself. Anyone who calls evil wrong is a hypocritical Christian? Okay... Then I'm a proud hypocrite. Raping little girls is wrong...

He plead guilty but fled the country before he was officially convicted....sorry, but imo there's no time limit on punishment for a crime, especially raping a young girl...

And instead of serving his time like a man, he ran. His victim may ask for mercy, but how did the incident harm her over the years, especially knowing he was still out there. I liken the situation to Nazis in South America. He deserves to be arrested, regardless of time passed.

I agree. I am sorry, but he hid from the law for years. The part of the article that makes me laugh is The French believe he should be above a normal person because he is an artist. He is talented filmmaker but what he did was wrong. Victor Salva did the time and now he is rebuilding his life. Polanski should have faced the music years ago.

Damn, I had no idea you could run from the sentencing stage of a trial and there is still a limitation on how responsible you are.

He should get 10-25 for the rape and 25 to life for ducking our legal system like he was above it.
