Default Want to upgrade to 1080p

This holiday season I was looking to upgrade my 32'' 720p TV to maybe a 40-46'' 1080p TV. Is the upgrade worth it? I really want to experience Bluray to it's maximum potential, but I need to know if the upgrade is worth it. If so, please share a link to a TV you think would suit my needs.

These are the ones I was looking at.

http://www.walmart.com/Vizio-42-Clas...0p/ip/10993796

http://www.walmart.com/Viore-42-Lcd-...55/ip/10803781

http://www.target.com/AOC-Full-High-...%201080p%20LCD

And this is the TV I currently own http://www.amazon.com/LG-32LC2D-wide.../dp/B000FL99DS

Are these TV's any good? Sorry for all the info, but I want no regret when I make the purchase.
Thanks

If you plan on getting something between now and Xmas, i'd say save up a little more and get a real upgrade!! Something like the Panasonic S or G series. These will cost you a few hundred dollars more than the first choice you picked out BUT your getting something that's worth a lot quality wise!

Look into the P42S1 if you can... I've seen them go anywhere between $750 and $899 US online and if you look around you might get a better deal. The X series isnt too bad either... and a little cheaper on the wallet.

If you can afford a 50" then by all means grab one!

I would seriously think about going up to 50" or more since a 42" may not be the upgrade you're hoping for.But then again there is the pecuniary matter. . .

Hope you get what you need

42 inches is a pretty big upgrade from 32 inches. Since he's been living with 32 inches for awhile, he'll be more than happy with the size of a 42 incher.

I agree--you should save a little bit more and get a good quality tv. Something like this Panasonic 46pz85 for $899:

This TV is last years model but it is awesome.

Here's a question for you. Should I get a 42'' 1080p TV. Or a 720p 50''?

42 inch Panasonic plasma. Sears has the S1 on sale for $799 right now. Although the 720p X1 has slightly better blacks, the S1 looks marvelous. But depending on your viewing distance, I would say get the X1 which is going for $599 at Sears. 720p is perfectly fine for anything below 50 inches given you're not sitting two feet from the screen. There's no real difference from 7-8 feet.

OK here's the deal. SHort answer YES. Bigger is always better with blue-ray. I have a 42" RCA 1080i and it's super sharp. 1080i looks awesome with action flix. THey have spent the time to work the tech. Still some movies cheat and you still get black bars on the top and bottom. that was my biggest disappointment seeing how I lost 6" of my expensive viewing. SO bottom line is... the tech is still growing, where are you, ahead or trailing

^^It's hard to take what you say as fact when you state "blue-ray" within the first few lines.
