What Is the Best Urban/Gang Type Movie?? - Blu-ray Forum

Ok this one should be interesting. Please vote/choose the best or fav whatever works for u. Also list what is the worst one as well. I listed all the movies I felt qualify for what I am looking for and basing it on. I didnt list movies that were comedic, musicals, organized crime, or bad cops. I wanted to go with the serious gang movies with urban youth. If u feel I left out a movie that fits my criteria then just reply what it is, no need to call it out or ask why its not listed. I wont reply with an answer as I already explained here. But if the movie does fit the criteria and I left it off I will apologize early here. lol. Ok well here we go. My thoughts would be:

Best: Menace II Society/Boys N The Hood

Fav: Menace II Society

Worst: Original Gangstas

Thoughts? Got Em!!

I think everyone should go rent baby boy its by far the least hyped movie of any on that list but its by far a top5 of this group.

1.Boyz in the Hood/ AH:X
2. Menace II Society
3. Baby Boy

Tough choice for me between The Warriors and The Wanderers. Both awesome but I had to go with The Warriors. Bada** videogame also. Need another one.

The Warriors are on the comicbook side of things
The Wanderers are more on the realistic side.

Juice was alright, but I didn't see too many on that list... But now that I looked again I would have to change the least to 187... that was terrible.

I was also surprised Belly wasn't on the list too.

I always thought of "Fresh" as a nice little gem in this category.
An old time favourite is "Bad Boys" with Sean Penn.

Yea i discussed belly earlier and it is more about drug trafficing but i can see what u mean! And yes please take Juice off the least list cause its much better than 187 although 187 was better than original gangstas which was my least! Got Em!!

OMG I can't believe you missed the best "Gang" movie of all time where is Grease???? Ok Ok I had to throw that in there. Seriously my initial thought when I saw this was to pick Colors, great movie great soundtrack, but then I chose American Me which is one of the first movies I actually cried in. The part where, I forgot the characters name, strangled his brother, just got to me. Very real movie.
