France The Postman Always Rings Twice (Tay Garnett/Bob Rafelson)

Warner-France have set a preliminary date for The Postman Always Rings Twice (Tay Garnett's 1946 and Bob Rafelson's 1981 versions): June 2, 2010.

OMG! Pro-B, do you know if we are looking at both in one set or two separate releases?

And what is the prelim date?

I am sorry, I added it in the original post - June 2, 2010.

As to the packaging, I can only speculate at the moment, but it seems like a double pack of some sort. I think that we would all have to wait and see what comes out of Warner.

this was not even released on DVD in France : I still wonder why as this is a great classic from the 70ies.

As this is coming from Warner, is it likely that it will have forced French subtitles with the original language soundtracks? I hope not, as this will be a very welcome release in other respects. The early Region 1 Warner DVD of the 1981 film wasn't even in widescreen and they've never released a later edition. I had to get a Japanese edition to see it in anything like a proper presentation.

Whatever happened to this title? A friend mentioned the movie the other day to me and it made me remember that a Blu was supposed to come out.

This title was mentioned in a recent digitalbits column as coming out in the states later this year (I think).

Really should be posting in the US forum, but thought this might answer your question.
