Default Which Boxsets are must-haves for you on Blu-ray and why?

I'm not certain if a thread is out there on this, subject, and if it is-pardon me...

I am now looking for boxset Blu-ray titles and they seem to be slow in coming.
I have a few and find that some are very worthwhile, such as:

The Bourne Trilogy
The Rocky Undisputed Collection
The Ultimate Matrix Collection
The Mummy Trilogy
The X-Men Trilogy
Harry Potter Years 1-5
The Pirates Trilogy
Underworld Trilogy
Spiderman Trilogy

My favorite is the Bourne boxset. It has so much info on the author and follows the path that led him to writing the series, and the making of docs are fabulous.
Of course, I can't wait for Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

Band of Brothers seems to be the consensus pick for the best (my copy is actually in the mail as we speak ) but I would also add to your list Planet Earth, the PQ is outstanding and the information is engrossing.

I was wondering about that set. I've been eyeballing it at the store, however, had no feedback on whether it's great to own or not. So you recommend?

Highly recommend, you should be able to grab it for a great price this time of the year too.

Thanks for that, ZedsDead. I'll be looking for the sale price or use my coupons at Best Buy, and pick it up.

Star Trek - TOS. All 3 Seasons.

Why? Because it's Star Trek, dammit!

Planet Earth is a monumental achievement on so many different levels. It was my first blu and is still my favorite. Each episode is incredibly entertaining, the PQ is as obvious of a 5 star rating as any out there, and the narration is great. Words cannot describe how amazing it is.

Band of Brothers is also a no-brainer. Without a doubt (of course imo) the best mini-series ever created and the best war movie or show ever created.

The Matrix is also a no-brainer, as long as you like at least two of the films. It is hands down the best blu package for extras, with a MIND-BOGGLING 35+ hours of bonus material. Each of the films also looks and sounds great.

I would also highly recommend Pirates--the PQ is as good as it gets.

I second the motion!! I have the Blade Runner set and am squirming in my chair just thinking about the Alien Quadrilogy on Blu, which I have on SD but is still spectacular. Obviously, LOTR, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc. are in there as well for future releases.

I also recommend Band of Brothers, Bourne Trilogy, Die Hard Collection, Firefly, Pirates of the Carribean, Planet of the Apes 40-Year Evolution, The Sopranos Season 6 Part 1, The Sopranos Season 6 Part 2, Star Trek TOS Season 1, Star Trek TOS Season 2, TTSCC Season 1, TTSCC Season 2, Wizard of Oz UCE, all of which I own...

I have Pirates, Harry Potter and Spiderman. Star Wars will be a good one to own as should Lord of the Rings when it finally comes out, I would make sure to get the extended edition to get your moneys worth.

I have the following:
Austin Powers
Bourne
Godfather
Mad Men (Seasons 1 and 2)
Planet Earth
Sopranos (Season 1 preordered, Season 6 parts 1 and 2 on my shelf)
Spider-man

As for why these are must-haves, I think it's been covered elsewhere.

I've also ordered Rome. Looking forward to it.

None

I only buy single releases, such as the mummy movies, bond, xmen, etc

i like to have each release in its own case, the box sets would throw off the look of my collection, unless i put them all at the end but i still dont like that idea
