Thinking about getting this for a gift.
https://www.samsclub.com/eclub/main_...goodflf.0&stg= I need a player that streams netflix (that's what he wants) and the "issues" with the Samsung players have me concerned... I see there is no "official" review in the "master-thread" for the Sony BDPN460HP So is this player reliable? I see amazon reviews stating that it does in fact Stream Netflix now....... Should I pull the trigger? I want a "Sub-$200" Netflix capable RELIABLE non-quirky player. |

Vanns had it listed for $199 no-tax, free shipping (might be tax for others... not sure) also..... EDIT: Crap.... I'll pay the extra $12-$15 to get it at Vanns..... I don't have a Sam's Club membership.... EDIT again: O.K. Newegg has it for $189 no shipping, no tax. Just need to hear some feedback on this one... Last edited by Beta Man; 12-15-2009 at 03:53 AM. |

Since the BDP N460 is a new player from Sony I wonder if those of us who own it will recieve a firmware upgrade when the 3-D craze hits? I aint no big fan of 3-D but would like to upgrade my player should I want to watch a 3-D movie. Just curious.

Best Buy has it for $199.99 (for those who don't have a costco or a sams club near them and/or don't want to order from amazon):
Sony - Blu-ray Disc Player with 1080p Output $199.99 Too bad this doesn't have wi-fi (also, the current models of Sony blu-ray players, the remotes that come with them don't have a the open/close feature). |

Anybody have any comments as to the speed of this player, compared to say, the Panny 35? That's mainly what I'm after, an improvement in speed in the sub-$200 range.
And, Steve, no, no current players will be fully upgradeable to the 3D spec, so far I hear only the PS3 will be able to do it in a limited capacity. Anything else on the market now cannot and will most likely never be able to. |

I like you have the Panny 35 and I just bought the Sony S360, and it loads much faster then the Panny 35. I moved the Panny to the bedroom and kept the Sony in the livingroom. It seems as if all the players are getting faster. |

The lack of an eject button is annoying. Since most players do not eject the disc instantaneously when the button is pushed, it is convenient to eject with the remote, and then the disc will have been ejected by the time you walk to the player. Also, on occasion it is helpful to eject and restart a disc if it doesn't load properly, a non-uncommon issue with BD-Live discs. |

Attempts to access internet channels give an error: reference code 11.
Under system settings - Provisioning Server Connection Status: Failed 3 different tech support specialists were unable to offer any reasons for this and none had heard of reference code 11. Network connection is fine (down 6MB/s up 2 MB/s) Latest software installed (123) Any ideas? |

New here and to Bul Ray.
I just bought a 52" Bravia. Now I want a player. I believe the pn460 is the first with WiFi. going up in the model numbers. Trying to decide which one is going to be the best for me. It will also be a Sony so no problems with incompatibility. I want to get it right the first time. Storing DVD inside is not a problem. So don't know if I should go up a mod# or not. Any ideas to help me make up my mind. Thanks, Lee |
