Default How do u get IR to go away.

My plasma is about a month old and I have done all the things that were said to be good for it in the first 200 hrs. Turn brighness contrast down, use those color frames on the sd card slot, etc. Well I played a 30 min game on NCAA and now I have a bad case of IR. It has been there for about 12 hrs and it is really bothering me. What do i do.

Burn-in, (or not quite, perhaps you mean it keeps a ghost image for a while but not forever?) ok, I thought that modern plasmas no longer had that as an issue. I thought that was limited to 1st & 2nd generation plasmas, guess not or did you buy an older plasma?

What kind of TV do you have? Most newer plasmas have a feature to get rid of IR if it appears.

No this is a 2009 panasonic s1. its not burn it as I am seeing it go away slowly but its image rentention and some plasma owners get it especially in the first 200 hrs of the set. I love the pq of it but thats a headache to deal with. You cant see it unless the tv is on a blank input and your are about 1 ft from the tv but still.

Um you seem to be blowing this way out of proportion. Who watches tv at a distance of 1 FOOT away? I have the same thing on mine with over 500 hours on it. I sit at a distance of 10-12 feet away when I watch and if I am gaming some times sit as close as 5 feet away, and NEVER notice anything until I walk up to it to clean it or walk by it about a foot away. Stop worrying about it if you can't see it from your normal sitting distance! Your freaking out about ghosting/Image Retention which is not noticeable from regular viewing distances and does go away with normal full screen viewing of movies or tv shows.
