Default What's your opinion on landscape Steelbooks?

I've only seen two of what I am calling landscape Steelbooks which are Fight Club and RockNRolla:

Do any more of these landscape style Steelbooks exist and what's your opinion on more landscape style Steelbooks being released in the future?

James

I love them! And want more! But more like the Fight Club, not the double-sided RockNRolla.

They outdid themselves with the design of Fight Club - one of my all time fave steelbooks. Ab fab.

There are quite a bit of them in dvd steelbook versions, but I think those are the only two BR ones right now. I like them as well. It gives the artwork a much nicer canvas to work with. They don't match up well with the other ones, but when they are on the shelves, the spines match up just fine. Looking at them reminds me of a widescreen display, which fit in perfectly with a movie release. Hopefully, more start to come out.

One of my favorite dvd landscaped steelies is King Kong.

I am one of those people who like a 'blue band' of the blu-ray.

Witha landscape oriented blu-ray it'd be pretty hard to have that strip.
Besides I think it'd look really weird.

So yeh I don't like landscape type blu-rays.

Makes them look like dvd's without the blue strip.

And that RocknRolla SB is my least favorite steelbook of all time. (Brown in color)....I can think of a few nasty things that are brown in color.

I think the double-sided version was a good idea to get by the stupid rating stamp. I use the flip side for display.

i think they're nice, just as nice as portrait oriented sb's

i think it really depends on the artwork though

fight club is definitely brilliant, i like rocknrolla (i dont like that it was double sided i could have lived with a ratings stamp but with stickers now i imagine that wouldnt happen again)

I like them, but the decided upon design should dictate the placement for proper composition and layout, much like the dimensions of a canvas.

When the layout is complete, it will either appear awkward, lacking, or perfect.

That's where the difference in designer talent and ability surfaces.

Not a fan.

My favourite Steelbooks are the ones with simple, clean artwork and a Blu-ray strip (having this there makes any Steelbook 10 times more favourable to me, personally).
