Those of you who have watched both versions, including the original T2 release, and then the Skynet edition re-release, how noticeable would you say the technical differences are, meaning the PQ/AQ? I'm reading the reviews right now, but trying to get some user's perspectives on the matter.
Also, would you recommend T3? I loved 1 and 2, really liked 4, but always heard negatives about 3 - might just rent it, instead of owning them like the others. What do you fine chaps think? I just finished seeing the original T2 release (which I remember being proud of for getting for $8 a year and a half ago) - and got curious. Last edited by JJ; 12-22-2009 at 05:32 AM. |

The UK and Australian version of T3 have lossless audio, the US release is lossy. Also the skynet edition released in Australia has noticibly less DNR applied then the US version and is region free.

The Skynet has noticably less DNR applied to it? How come... I've actuaclly considered to buy the T2 Premium Edition Japanese SteelBook™ https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=72228 I've read it's supposed to have better PQ, although marginally better or something. The Skynet does have some additional DNR applied to it compared to the original release, but it is superior to the original disc and is a pretty decent looking image considering the original transfer was done on older equipment. The original disc has too much video noise (not actual film grain). The colors and contrast are slightly better on the Skynet disc too. In addition, the audio is better. The Skynet is a decent holdover until a restoration is done one day.
