What's up with slip covers? - Blu-ray Forum

I've been collecting Blu-rays for two years now and just recently saw this fascination with Slip Covers. I see just as many people selling these things as the movies themselves. What am I missing? It's a piece of cardboard to me that I find completely useless. Why does everyone want these?

to be honest i don't know why i like them or prefer my movies to have them i just do for some reason

Slipcovers for Iron Man, Hellboy 2 and Incredible Hulk look amazing IMO

I don't understand it either, I've got a huge stack of them shoved in a drawer somewhere. I like all my movies to look the same on the shelf and since they don't all have slips they usually get pulled first thing.

I love the look of them. If I buy a movie that was released with one and I don't get the slipcover for it it doesn't seem complete.

Besides, I'm used to my collection not being uniform. To many great unique packaging out there for various releases.
