Default Porn star says video games are worse than porn

Not sure if anyone has posted anything about this yet, but I'm curious to know what you guys think about his comments:

well....

think of it this way: humans are made to have sex and reproduce, we're not made to carry sniper rifles around the roof of a bank and blow up cop cars for achievements / trophies

but still hypocritical.

First I have to point out that I'm not a parent. However, if I was, I think I would rather my children played video games than watch porn.

I don't want to pi** on anyone's parade, but do we really have to discuss what porn stars think, say or do?

I am awesome with a rocket launcher in real life because I used to "Quake" back in the day. I'm also highly proficient with a rail gun.

I think handling weapons like a rocket launcher and a rail gun is essential to modern living so Ron Jeremy is wrong. Video games are good for everyone.

You can't reproduce having sex the way most of those porn stars do.

Actually, I kind of agree with him. Western society is so hung up on sex it's crazy... it's perfectly natural, and a normal part of life. I find it amazing that parents freak out about their kids possibly seeing a nipple slip during the Super Bowl, yet at the same time let their kids play violent games and watch movies where people get their heads torn off. I'm not saying kids should be watching hardcore pornography, but I do believe that excessive desensitization is just as bad, and far less regulated and controlled.

Well, with video games, since the addition of Wii wrist straps, now no one is getting hit in the eye with anything.

some say porn is degrading and exploitative. we're watching real life people doing real life things to each other. video games are less graphic because there arent real life people doing real life things to each other no matter what the act is.

Don't blame us. We have disclaimers, age notifications and software blockers. We are doing our bit," said Mr Jeremy.
I call BS. I can be on any number of porn sites in 2 mouse clicks. And those disclaimers he's so proud of...?

Are usually on a splash page of nude women taking on 2-3 guys.

Age notification? Asking someone to type their birthdate in is no deterrent. A six year old can bypass that security feature.

Software blockers? Doesn't he mean tracking cookies?

Now I have a question for the parents here. Specifically the parents of young girls. Who would you rather date your daughters, a kid who spends 20 hours a week playing Call Of Duty, or a kid who spends 20 hours a week watching hardcore porn.

+1, as far as adults are concerned. Kids shouldn't be watching porn or playing violent video games in the first place.

I agree. They are both inappropriate for most kids. Anyone that has a problem with their kids watching reproductive acts, but has no issue at all with their kids taking an active role in the imaginary chainsawing of a pixelated human being in half, seriously needs to reevatulate their value system. I'm not saying porn is better for kids.... but it's no worse IMO.

People who are into bestiality, scatophilia, incest, bukkake porn just to name a few isn't worse then playing video games?

That doesn't make sense one bit!

In some countries, that porn can be purchased on the market!

I rather have my child play GTA IV then watching TWO Girls ONE CUP And Such

I lived in Germany. On the US Base where I lived, the workers there were mostly German locals. They didn't care what you buy. You could buy R-rated films with no problem. I was 13 and I bought the Rammstein - Lichtspielhaus DVD which has a parental advisory on the cover of the DVD. The woman just scaned it and I was on my way.

However, on the German economy, they enforced their rules. If a movie was rated 18, I couldn't buy it. I had have my folks do it. Even going to the movie theaters, if I wasn't old enough, I couldn't get in. So, I took joy in being able to buy and rent R-rated films on the US base and do it freely.
