Default I give up! :(...please suggest. :)

My new samsung p4600 does not deliver the quality image that my old Sony BDP-s301 did. Its very very different. . . Im going to return it.

I've tried everything. The player is set up to 1080p, my bravia is set up to 1080p... and it stills look like a normal DVD movie. Like a DVD movie with refinements. Nothing at all like the blu ray that I use to see on my Sony BDP-s301.

please suggest something or post your thoughts. . . thanks!

PS3 Slim.

Or Oppo BDP-83.

What's your budget?

Do you know of anybody that has another Blu-ray player (PS3, Sony, etc) so you can hook that one up to see if it is your TV. You might consider that if you have friends that might have one.

I doubt it is your Bravia though, probably the player. You could try your Blu-ray player in the different HDMI inputs, just a thought!

Yep... some friends have the ps3 and other sony players.

the bravia looks stunning when seeing HD channels on Satellite. so, the TV could not be.

Sometimes the PQ is like I'm seeing a lot of micro dots on the screen kind of moving.
its barely noticeble but you know its there. . .

His HDMI cable could have gone bad as well. OP, have you tried using another HDMI cable? Try these fixes, one at a time, that way you can diagnose where the problem is coming from.

Then I would check the Oppo out. You have 30 days if you don't like it and I have had a lot of Blu-ray players. Samsung is the best. You will not be disappointed with the Oppo.

If you enjoyed the PQ your Sony was able to deliver I would recommend you look into another Sony player. Either the PS3, S360, N460, or S560.

Does the Bravia remote have a display info button, such that it reports what signal it is receiving? I'm assuming you are using HDMI for connectivity, but is it going through anything like an audio receiver?

I am using the "Monster cable 60/120 Hz 8bit color 10.2Gbps HDMI" for this player.

I did the "info" button on the tv remote and it says 1080/24ph...something like that.

is this ok?

I suggest trying "Fighting" and "Transporter" on the Samsung and see if the image quality is still subpar.
