Default Superbowl 2010 commercials/trailers thread

Alright guys we all know why we watch the Superbowl. It's commercials. So for right now since the game doesn't come on until Feb 7th what's the word on what commercials or movie trailers that will be on? Anything yet?

Don't know anything yet. However...I had better be wearing my cardboard 3D glasses for some of those commercials.

Are they doing that again? I haven't heard nothing yet from work. (grocery store) I remember last year we had a hard time getting those for customers coming in gettting those.

Not confirmed yet. But I have a feeling we will get a glimpse of Iron Man 2.

we never got the trailer in all of the Sherlock Holmes screenings. But they might have a new one.

I would say maybe a new Shutter Island trailer? Or Inception

That sucks...ya I saw the trailer when I went to Sherlock Holmes but it was quick so maybe it was just a teaser. So you're probably right that they'll have a newer one out by then. Harry Potter may also be a logical choice.

it depended on the theater. my friend saw it at the theater he was at but the one I went to on the other side of town didn't But saw it online before most of those people did.

lol. I told him this would be the outcome. However, from what I heard the cowboys put up a good fight.

Blu Blood needs to know that the Colts will win the AFC championship.

That is why I was rooting for the Jets earlier.

With the mega-sporting event of the Superbowl rolling around once more, for us movie fans it means that the biggest studios in the business will be paying money (A LOT of it – $3 million to be exact) to run 30-second TV spots during the event.

Adage has the info on which studios have bought ad space and which movies they will be advertising, so read on below to find out.

During Superbowl XLIV on February 7th this year, you’ll be seeing ads from three of the biggest studios: Universal, Paramount and Walt Disney.

First, Paramount has bought the most amount of spots with a total of three and they will be advertising Iron Man 2, Shutter Island and The Last Airbender, all of which are highly anticipated around these parts (all three made Screen Rant’s 2010 most anticipated list). For Paramount’s ads you should look out during the first and second quarters to catch them.

Both Disney and Universal have bought at least one spot but both declined to comment on their “Superbowl activity.” However, Disney will most likely be raising awareness for Alice in Wonderland, Toy Story 3 or Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and Universal will most likely choose The Wolfman or Robin Hood.

Those are all movies I’m highly anticipating, and let’s hope the footage shown is new and not just old footage set in a different order. I’m particularly hoping for new stuff from Iron Man 2 and Toy Story 3 because I’m looking forward to those two the most.

Thoughts?

Superbowl XLIV airs on February 7th, and we know you footage-hungry movie fans will be paying attention… either that or you can catch them here at Screen Rant when they inevitably make their way online .

I don't like CBS making political statements with the Superbowl. I want a politics FREE fun time.

Are you talking about the Canadian commercial that couldn't get the slot because of its nature?

Nah the Pro-Life commercial that CBS approved and how they denied both the ManCrunch and Go Daddy commercials.

They should either allow everything or deny them all. They are turning into FOX News.

I haven't heard about the Pro-Life commercial. But I agree there need to be some consistency on how they handle sensitive topics like you said.

There's nothing political about any of it. The majority of Americans will support and be touched by the Tebow commercial and be offended by the ManCrunch one. CBS is within their rights to air what they want, as long as it does not violate FCC regulations, though it surprises the heck out of me (based on their reputation) that they agreed to run the Tebow commercial.

What about the GoDaddy commercial that was also banned? That wasn't offensive, it was hilarious.

Do not worry there are plenty of state run news channels for you to chose from.
