Default PS3 60gb Question?

I have the Ps3 60gb that I use for Blu-ray movies/Games. My question is, my PS3 60gb dose not support DTS-HD or True HD audio ( So that is how I understand it ) so how can I set it up to get the DTS-HD or TRUE-HD audio out of it? My Yamaha RX-V765 dose, so how do I set it up to that way? Can anyone help me out with this?

Hope I put this in the right section. Sorry if I didn't!

Thanks guys.

You will need to let the ps3 do the decoding so you have to set the Ps3 to output Linear PCM multi channel audio.

It is that way now, but when watching a blu-ray movie the receiver says ( PCM ) and I would, like it to say TRUE-HD or DTS-HD. So why dose it not?

Since you set it to LPCM, the PS3 decodes the True HD/DTS HD-MA signal internally, then sends the already decoded LPCM signal to your receiver. That is why you don't see True HD on the display. You're still getting the high def audio though.

If you wanted to see "Dolby True HD" on your receiver, you would need a Blu-Ray player that is capable of bitstreaming the high def audio. The 60GB PS3 cannot do this, but the PS3 slim and some other BD players can.

What about the Samsung BD-P1500? Will it do it?

Just keep in mind that your sound quality will not change by switching to the BD-P1500. The only difference will be that your receiver says "Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD MA" on the display during playback.
