Default What do you do with old DVDs?

I started getting Blu-rays to upgrade my DVDs for the same movie and I was wondering what you do with the DVDs?

I would like to get some money back but not sure what the best options other than eBaying are.

None. You take it to stores that trade them in and you'll get around 25 cent to 2 dollars.

don't know where you are located, but here (Canada) HMV has an other sale with 5$ off of many BD titles/sets for each DVD (with box) you bring

I keep them, but you could always ebay them in small to medium "lots" but since you don't want to do Ebay, you could do "Half.com" which is run by ebay.

I keep some and gave away some... knowing they are not worth anything at all.

Keep 'em. I have way too many to just throw away.

I was thinking of buying a media player and ripping my DVDs into MP4 files. This way I can store my DVDs in boxes and still have access to them.

Some I keep, since for some reason the Blu doesn't have all the same special features.

Some I give to family or friends.

Others are in a box in my closet, collecting dust.

I usually sell them to friends for $4 or $5 U.S. dollars, hehe.

Have you ever put one in the microwave? It's a pretty neat experience. But really, I've kept mine, except the few I've traded in to Warner Bros. I buy nothing but Blu-Ray now.I can't see myself re-buying something I already own.

Until they all come out on blu-ray, I simply watch them and enjoy them!

For my favorites that HAVE come out on blu-ray and that I now have two of, I typically just take the DVD copy off my "Top 100/200" shelves, replace it with the blu-ray and file the DVD away in a cabinet as if they are still being collected but not being used. Which is exactly the case I suppose...

The ones I couldn't give away or are out on blu-ray I'm having a local Ebay consignment co. sell them for me. No fee and they get 40%. Had about 50 of 'em. We'll see what happens...
