I have the KDL46 XBR9 and when the screen is totally blank (when I'm changing imput channels like from cable tv to my ps3). I noticed a tiny white pixel on the upper left corner (you won't notice it unless there is no image on the screen. My mom has about 4 of them on her KDL26S2000 (which used to be my tv a few years ago but I gave it to her). I recall there is supposedly a way to correct this. Anyone recall what it is? Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: I believe it's called a "stuck Pixel". Last edited by Wingman1977; 02-13-2010 at 11:06 PM. |

I'm no novice at this but I dont think there is anyway you can fix stuck pixels unless someone knows a way. At times they will just disapear but other then that unless someone knows better you may have to live with the problem. Better yet maybe you should give Sony a call and they might be able to help.

I'll copy and paste my post from another thread...this is a technique I've used before that has worked. You will need 1) A micro fiber cloth (commonly included with most flat screens). 2) A standard No. 2 pencil (that has a working eraser i.e. not chewed on ![]() Locate exactly where the dead pixel is on the TV, then press a soft cloth up against the screen over the pixel (a micro fiber cloth is a good option since it's not terribly harsh on the screen). Try your best to remember where the pixel was exactly, turn the TV off, and lightly press the the eraser end of the pencil up against the cloth over the pixel. Do this a few times, but again, be very gentle...too much pressure can cause more dead pixels. This method got rid of 2 dead pixels for me ![]() Good luck! Thanks, I'll get around to try that. If it doesn't work, you owe me a new tv (J/K0). It's only one tiny stuck pixel (you can't notice it unless you really try to look for it and the screen it completely black). Now, if I get a bunch more, it'll be time for me to use that 2yr warranty I purchased along with it. |
