Hey, question for you out there. I am just backing up my saved game files onto a flashdrive and there are a few games that it wont let me due to copy write protection or something. does anyone know if there is a way?

Check out this thread for games that have portable save files. If you have anything to add, let me know.

I think you have to do a system backup onto a portable hard drive that is formatted in FAT32.

It takes a long time though since it backs up everything.

I did this when I upgraded my hard drive and all my rockband dlc and game save info was still intact.

That's true, but only if you use the backup/restore utility on the same console, as in the case of upgrading a hard drive. If you use the restore utility on another console, it will refuse to restore locked saves. However, if you're moving to a different console you can use the data transfer utility (assuming it works, it's buggy for a lot of people).

But if you just want to back up locked saves in case your current console breaks, there's nothing you can do currently. Just hope it holds out until Sony gets the rumored cloud storage save backup going...
