Default Did I Make A Mistake

I was at my local Best Buy store and they were having some open box/display model specials, and they had a Klipsch XL-23 center channel speaker for $89.00 I currently I have a Polk Audio set-up with Monitor 60's for my fronts, and a CS1 for my center. Should I go back and snatch that up, would I see a huge difference in sound. I decided against it, I hope I didn't make a mistake.

Your front sound stage is the most important & you want it to Timbre match .
You don't want A Klisch center with Polk towers . Keep the polk center

I thought so with the timbre match, I just didn't know if that would be considered a huge step up, maybe buy it now and keep it, and then upgrade my front's later. They also had a Klipsch tower speakrs for $350, I didn't have time to look at the model # because they were closing, but, it said retail $1400, they looked similar to the WF-35's but, don't know if they were it.

You'd be much better off upgrading to the CS2 center. From all I've read, you'll see a decent performance upgrade without messing up your timbre matching, like crazy said.

Thanks, I have been thinking about upgrading to the CS2 even though i'm very happy with the CS1, but, I think I better upgrade my sub first, I saw a great deal on the Polk Audio PSW10 on Amazon for $86, I was thinking about buying 2 of them.

In most cases, 2 is definitely better than 1. Would you consider moving up to something more...robust? You've got a nice size display and nice speakers. Reading your sig, the one thing that jumped out at me was the sub.

I was on ebay and found a PSW125 by polk audio for $199.00 That's the cheapest I have seen it in a long time. I would love to jump up to that, with S&H only $225 for it. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger. The sub I have is just average, It was a spur of the moment buy when my other sub stopped working.

The PSW125 will be better than the PSW10 .

The 10" only has A 50 Watt Plate amp . The 12" has A 150 watt plate amp .

I would save up a bit more and get myself a very good HT sub that can go much lower than PSW10, 2 x PSW10 = 170$ save another 170$ and get yourself something like an ED A2-300, this will make a killing.

Sure 2 subs helps even out the bass response but if you askme what is better between 2 PSW10 and 1 ED A2-300, most people will tell you get the ED.

I have to agree with everyone else here keep your front sound stage as is or get the CS2 unless you're really planning on upgrading your fronts as well.

Thanks BigAl. I think that's what I'm going to do. I think I will save up a little more and get the nice big sub. I would pull the trigger and buy it now, but, I'm buying new home theater seats in the next month or 2, don't want to make the wife too mad and buy everything at once.

Was on Ebay last night, actually up all night because I got upgrade-itis again, and found a CS2 with S&H for only $86 from the Polk Outlet, and I could not resist. I pulled the trigger, will update with pictures once I get it. I was in 6 bidding wars on a PSW110 for an outstanding price and lost those, I'm currently the leader on 1 right now. If I get that, I should be happy for a long time!

After losing 7 auctions and staying up all night to get the PSW110, I decided WTH, and just pulled the trigger and bought the PSW125. I'm so excited I can't wait, after all, people were paying $140 for a refurbished PSW110, and I bough a brand new PSW125 for $199 and $23 S&H, everyone else was still selling them for over $300, I think I got the better deal, and will be happier. Thanks guys.
