I have the dutch version and its was one of the best blu rays i own.The PQ is amazing for a 15 year old film.The blacks are solid without losing detail and its so sharp in nearly every scene.Dutch version is widescreen and 1080p but lacks any extra's but this film was to good to pass with great PQ and AQ.Not sure why they buggered up for the Can version.

Import. Avoid if you don't want to double dip for a better US version down the road like what happened with Fight Club.

O God you better stay away from the Canadian Alliance copy as they cropped the 2:35:1 frame that David Fincher shot and cropped it to 1:78:1.

It is the Canadian Alliance 1080i bare bones release. We had it up here in Canada for almost a year now, if not longer. It doesn't get noticed because of not being 1080p with special features. Not sure about the AR but I think it's accurate. Most reviews place it as a good upgrade over the DVD but still, most people rather wait for the official release.

Avoid it, the PQ is terrible, and they scrubbed out all the burned in text and replaced it with computer generated Italian.

The best copy right now is the Dutch one and so far, not too many sites carry it. I am still waiting for a shipped notice from one of the sites I found and I am not holding my breath. If you can live with watching the CA release, you can find it online for cheap.

Thanks for the quick response, the audio glitch on the Dutch release worries me and the messed up AR plus interlaced video makes the Canadian release not so hot either, I had this hope that the Italian version might be the magic fix, guess not

Why does the audio on the Dutch scare you? Isn't it supposed to be a minor issue?

What audio glitch? The only problem I had with the audio at all was sometimes the dialogue was too low (and it only happened in the beginning). Other than that I had no problem with it.

It's true about the burned text in the movie..
Ex: Wednesday to Mercoledì... it's about every time an english burned text should appear.. 12 times ? guessing

PQ it's not so terrible, in IMHO... nice VC-1 compression.. much better than DVD for sure

When it comes in the mail I'll be the first to scream "Whats in the box!!"

I wish when they release these digibooks they release the regular edition along side them. Especially given the price difference. Obviously between the two the plain case is easier to manufacture.
