Thumbs down Has anyone else ever been screwed by eBay ???(as a seller)

Very rarely, if ever do I ever use eBay to sell Blu-rays...But due to certain circumstances I needed about $500 fast so I decided to sell 40 of blu's in a lot on eBay. It sold for just under $400 all of the blu's included were either in MINT condition or still sealed. 3 days after the auction I messaged the buyer as they had still not payed me. They say they forgot and would pay within the hour (it took them 2 more days). They paid on a Friday night...I shipped on the following Tuesday as Monday was President's Day. Everyday from Friday until Tuesday the buyer messaged me telling me to bubble wrap the blu's...I told them don't worry I would package them safely. She then proceeds to write crazy messages saying that she knows blu-rays get scratched during shipping so make sure I package it "extra secure and safe". I complied and did so as that is how I would want my blu's, but why send that message every day?
Well the day buyer got the package she sends me a PayPal invoice for $100 saying the discs were scratched, I know for a fact that is untrue as I checked all of the discs before I packaged them and of the 40 I had only watched 16 of them; the rest either had shrink wrap or just had the shrink wrap removed. Well eBay decided that the buyer has to send the movies back and I have to refund them...basically a huggggeee pain the butt for me. I know eBay has to protect everyone but I am terrified that this person may have deliberately scratched my discs after I refused to give them $100 back for no reason. Long story short if/when I get my blus back (in the condition I originally shipped them in) I will be selling most of them here as I usually do. If the Blu-rays aren't in the condition I sent them in is there anything I can do? Has anyone ran into problems like this on eBay?
It's just a screwy situation and I had to put it up somewhere.

First of all, when someone wins your auction, put in the auction that you require payment with 24 or 48 hours by Paypal. If they don't pay, send them a message saying you're going to repost the item at a certain time then repost it at that time if you still don't have payment.

Also, if the Blus were fine when they left and are now not. I would require proof of the scratches. If there's proof this sounds like an insurance claim for the shipper.

Indeed you are right.

OP also you should go ahead and report the buyer as well. Its a federal offense.

It doesnt matter, the buyer always wins. She/he can send you back half of them, theres nothing you can do but be out money. They will get a refund. I just was screwed on a SteelBook, same situation....Mine was an exchange for their dented one

Isn't it as long as she sends back some of the items. Otherwise, if she doesn't then she did pull a scam.

I'd tell them no refund and open a dispute with ebay. I never offer refunds on stuff I sell. Also if the buyer is making that big of a deal about scratched discs, then insist on insurance, if they refuse then it's their problem.

I sold a guy about $450 worth of comics (including Avengers #1) and he refused insurance. Sure enough the comics got lost in the mail and the buyer got upset at me. I told him that he refused insurance and that common sense would say to put insurance on $450 worth of comics.

So in short, require immediate payment within 24 hours, don't offer a refund, and insist on insurance. That will keep situations like this from happening.

I usually sell 20k + worth of stuff on eBay a year and I don't feel screwed considering there is 100+ million people I can sell too.
